“Relax and enjoy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2011

On arrival late in the evening we were met by friendly staff. Our luggage was taken care of immediately. Our room was clean and well equiped with furniture.
Towels & dressing gowns could be softer.
FOOD & DRINKS:
Breakfast buffet was well presented with fresh pressed fruit juices and salads, big variety of food from all over the world available.
Evening buffet had a different theme every eveing; Again big variety of which to pick from to everybodies taste. Entertainment however could be improved as it was depressing.
Pool side bar served a variety of drinks & food. Waitresses were going around to serve the guests.
Some of the restaurants were not yet opened but we were told they would be in the next few weeks.
Tycoons bar was pleasant to get drinks; entertainment could do with more lively acts like live bands we experienced in 1 of the restaurants in the surrounding area outside the hotel.
Big variety of restaurants and bars available outside the hotel.
It takes 20 minutes by taxi (€ 15,00) to get into Limassol Centre. Public transport is also available with busstop near the hotel.
LEISURE:
Pool had sufficient pool attendants; free towels available which could be softer; parasols could do with replacement.
Inside pool and jacuzzi was a pleasure to be.
Spa was excellent with a big variety of treatment available; friendly staff and well performed treatments.
Entertainment team had set up a weekly programme for everyday where guests and children could participate.
GENERAL:
Staff was friendly, ready to serve with a real effort to interact with guests.

Room Tip: Book a room with seaview

Sometimes I just wonder how hotels get their star ratings, The Grand Resort Hotel Limassol is classed as 5 star, so is the Four Seasons Limassol, but the difference in standards between the two is huge, I would rate The Grand Resort as a 4 star Hotel at best. The hotel is situated some 15kms outside Limassol Centre, this in itself is not a problem, in fact I would go to say that it is probably better staying in this more upmarket area than the town centre itself, unless of course you are looking for a hive of activity and bustling nightlfe on your doorstep. The Grand Resort has a range of rooms and Suites with Inland Views and Sea Views, we had a 4th floor sea view room, the view was great, however, the first room we were allocated had two interconnecting doors to the adjoining rooms, these doors were of course locked but the doors were so thin that that everything could be heard in the other rooms, and I do mean EVERYTHING!!... After our first night we asked to be moved to a room with no interconnecting doors, this was done with no problem and it was clear that the receptiion staff were fully aware of the problem with the noise from adjoining rooms, therefore I would suggest that when you check in you insist that your room has no interconnecting doors, you have been warned!!! The staff at the hotel are very pleasant, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff, all excellent and attentive. The hotel has a good pool area and a childrens pool area, the beach is very poor, dark dirty sand with rocks and stones, building work is also going on to the left side of the hotel beach area. The hotel also has a Spa, Indoor Heated pool, and a small gymnasium. The hotel does make a charge for internet access in your room, 95 euros for a week, extortionate, and its not Wi-Fi ! We were on B&B and the Breakfast Buffet was just about fine, nothing special, but they finish serving breakfast at 10am, whiich I think is too early, breakfast should be offered until 11am, on Sundays they do serve breakfast until 11am so why can't they do this everyday?, holidaymakers prefer to stay in bed a little longer when on holiday, all days are like Sundays on holiday! There is a bus stop outside the hotel entrance, the number 30 bus operates every 20 minutes into Limassol Tourist area, New Town and Old Town, the cost is 1 euro one way, or 2 euros for an unlimited use day ticket, this is fantastic value, just ask the driver for the day ticket. Directly opposite the hotel is a bar and restaurant area called "Up Town Square", this has a Bar called Chesters which offers good bar style food and shows all major UK and European Football Games, there is also a great "classy" restaurant called Terra e Mare", which I would highly recommend, this is really great for a fine dining experience with a classy formal ambience. Would we return to the Grand Resort, probably if they price was very very special, certainly would not pay full brochure prices!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with NO interconnecting doors!

It 's not 5*. No good rest. One side of the hotel looks on the road, the other side on the construction site - a lot of noise. Charge for internet. The main business - conferences and weddings so the staff were not attentive. I cannot recommend the hotel for rest.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2010

I stayed here for four nights recently. I was expecting extreme luxury given the 5 stars and the impressive website. However, the room was nice but disappointing. Two twins pushed together to make a double is just not acceptable for a 5 star hotel. Ok for a 3 star for sure, but you pay a premium for 5 star so I expect better. Little other signs of being <5 star like key operated safe rather than electronic.

Our view was more of the road than the sea which was not appreciated, but just ask to be facing the swimming pool and you'll be sure of an amazing view. The pool area is lovely and I liked the tiny beach too. The pool was freezing though so if you're going out of summer be aware of that.

Food in the hotel was amazing. Breakfast particularly so - they even had champagne once day, although this may have been linked to the conference I attended that day?

Location is bad if you want to be near to Limassol centre, although from what I saw of Limassol I'd wonder why you'd want to be based here? This hotel is best as a permanent relaxation base really.

Charge for internet which is always annoying for a premium hotel.

We have just come back from staying at the Grand Resort where we also had our wedding.
It was simply perfection.
I would like to Give a special mention and thank you to Panayiotis Petrides the food and beverages manager. He oversaw every aspect of the wedding which was beautiful set in the hotel grounds. He made sure that every detail was seen to and too the time to make sure that we and our guests were happy at all time.
The Hotel Itself was Beautiful, the restaurants were fantastic, we especially enjoyed the breakfast in the morning, The hotel Ground were great whether you like to lounge, by the pool with a cocktail! or take walk down by the beach.
We definitely will be returning soon!

We stayed here for the first week of a two week holiday in Cypres. The hotel is in a great location on the beach but not too far from Limassol. The area around the hotel is a bit 'touristy' but there are some reasonable restaurants and cafes close by.

Staff at the hotel were friendly and welcoming. The room was very comfortable (though as we were on the road side of the hotel quite noisy as the road outside is very busy - I would advise booking//requesting a room on the non-road side of the hotel).

Breakfast buffet was great and such a wide selection of food. The pool area was fantastic with no shortage of sun longers or chairs.

The hotel bars were great but we didn't eat in any of the restaurants as we felt these were way to expensive compared to the prices charged in local restaurants or comparable hotel restaurants.

Overall a great hotel and we would not hesitate to stay again if we are in Cypres.

The management and the staff are very helpfull and hospitable and the atmosphere very relaxing. A special thanks is for one member of the staff. It is Natalie. She is a brilliant belly dancer. Besides she agrees well with children. Very sociable and outgoing. Thank you for the magnificents days.
