We have been indulging ourselves with a week at The Four Seasons for some years now. One of the highlights is the choice of restaurants in the hotel. It is quite difficult to put them in any sort of order, but on our last stay this year, we ate in all of them and Vivaldi, where we ate on two occasions, did come out as the top.
The restaurant is very high end Italian. Strangely, we have never had any of the pasta dishes. This year on one occasion I had the beef tenderloin, and the beef (Irish bred and reared) is just about the best beef dish I have ever had in a restaurant. I can only think of one place - a restaurant in Melbourne - where the quality, tenderness and taste of the meat was at the same level. The presentation was superb. The other evening I had a pork dish, and the quality was every bit as good. On both occasions my wife was equally pleased with her choices. Starters and deserts were of an equally high standard.
The waiting staff are first rate; on one evening a conversation with one of them revealed that the chef was Scots/Cypriot, (I am from Scotland) and he came out to chat to us, which was rather nice.
For Brits, it might help if I observe that the food here would most certainly get three red rosettes from the AA back home, possibly four, it's certainl;y somewhere between the two levels. So it would also be one Michelin Star, although the chef told us that the owners weren't much bothered with that sort of thing, and on a small island like Cyprus one can understand this.
If you go, do try for an outside table, the view over the hotel grounds to the sea is splendid.
