“Number One Cyprus Fish Tavern”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2011

The Alamanou Fish Tavern at Agios Georgious, near Limassol, just
has to be one of the best kept secrets of Cyprus. Hidden away as
it is, from the run-of-the-mill holidaymaker. Although it has in excsess of one hundred tables, you will find it difficult on Sunday
afternoons for it being occupied by a mass of Cypriots. To the
experienced tourist that means only one thing, this is the best available. The Islands Number One Fish Food.

There is a very professional reveiw of Alamanou Fish Tavern,
Agios Georgious, including photographs, by Ann Richardson in her
" Tales from a tiny kitchen " here in TripAdvisor, which I wil not
attempt to improve upon but recommend to everybody.

The menus cover a very broad spectrum. At the lower end you can
select at the simple menu for say, fish and chips or progress to the
special platter selections ranging up to €46.00 for a group. This
includes all the choicest fish and sea foods. If you fail to make an
excellent choice, it will be your fault not the menu ! Your choice
automatically includes all the trimmings, sauves etc,. Food is always
freshly cooked and beautifully presented, piping hot, at your table.
Remember, this is very much a seaview cafe atmosphere not a
stuffy restaurant, you can use your fingers if you wish.

Location, hidden away as it is on it,s own and completely isolated,
you have to be taken there or find it. Junction 18 of the Motorway
is the easiest starting point. Follow the signs to Agios Georgious,
when you first actually see St Georges church, dive down the
slip road by the side of the cemetery, when you reach a large car
park on your left that looks like a builders yard, you,r there !
That,s IT.

Recommended time, mid-day mid-week,, for a front seaside table.

Closed around December / January. Check by phone..
