“Must see - cheap ticket and really interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

Large site to wander over and I mean over, you can walk on, over and in the ruins, I was so shocked it was amazing, if you are into the history then very much worth the visit, if like me, not so much it is still visually interesting and fun. We took silly statue photos and the like, it was a glorious day for stroll and once again you can use your imagination and wonder what it must have been like in the past. Highly recommended for the entry price.

“Surprise find on drive from Paphos to Kourion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2014

Driving along the coast road from Paphos to Kourion, and having seen Aphrodite’s rock, we passed into the British Sovereign Territory of Akrotiri. We saw the sign to the Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates to give it its full name on the landward side of the road – and decided to drop in – we were heading for Ancient Kourion. After the usual small fee the site surprised us in that there was quite a lot to see – some reconstructed admittedly and maybe the mosaics while good were not up to the standard of the main mosaics at Paphos. Worth a 30 min stop over.

“Another hidden Cypriot gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We had planned this visit to the Sanctuary of Apollo as i had passed it on a previous visit and not had a chance to see it. Finding it was easy and once in we only had to pay the usual 1.70 Euros which in my view was a total bargain. Once in you are left to roam freely and see all the site. Within the site there are plenty of places to cool down in shade so if you are there in the middle of the day you can still cool down. The site is very open and full of ancient history. The kids enjoyed exploring the site while we took our time. There is one covered area of a dig that has raised walkways over it giving you a good view down.
If you are in the area don't drive passed as its well worth a visit and you can take as long as you want or just pop in for a quick look as 1.70 Euros doesn't exactly break the bank.

“Impressive tempel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

On our way to Kourion we passed by this site and decided to visit on our way back. Glad we did! The temple of Apollo (the remains) are quit interesting. Also when looking at the temple from the holy road, you really get a good idea of what it used to be like. The remains of the bath house are well preserved and visible. Information panels tell you more. Fee: about 2 euro's, visit takes about 1-1.30 hours. From the parking lot you can walk (about 10 minutes) to the sports stadium however ther's not much left of it.
P.s. The guy at the ticket office makes impressive mosaics as a hobby and to kill time. He told us that some of his artworks take up to one year(!).

Very cheap tiucket. Found just after the kourion ancient site, it includes baths and the partially restored sancttemple of apollo, which is one of the most famous Cyprus attractions, often seen on guide covers
