“Impressive history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Amazing what they were able to do all that time ago, and there is a great deal of remaining stonework which gives some impression of what the original site must have looked like. Great view from the top towards the back of the site.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

We went here on a rainy day and just happened to be in the area. However, I'm glad we did as it was very interesting and worth the visit. Lovely views from the top of the hill and the information was quite detailed.

“It's an amazing Unesco site yet a bit dissapointing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

I fully agree with most of the reviews. The place is well prepared for tourists. Toilets, good parking, nice paths etc. It's v.good that at the bottom of the hill some restored huts were build as it adds to the experience. The site itself shows how people lived ages ago but as the site is small and as one could expect, not much is left to see. Still, as it is 2min from the highway, DO NOT miss this Unesco site.

“Ancient but unfulfilled”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

Have to agree with other reviewers. The site is genuinely interesting. This is an ancient site, before the pyramids, and it was been well excavated and it is clear where the houses were, and the replica houses bring it all to life a little. However the information to support this is really lacking. Where are the model people showing ancient life in the replica houses. It is like the archeologists have done their work, written their scientific papers and then someone has posted a dry description on a post next to it and left it at that. This criticism could be levelled at the other historical sites on the island.
So good but could be so much more.

“Impressive but disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Worth a stop if you are driving by, the ruins themselves are impressive but there is just a lack of useful information, the only leaflets they had were in Greek and French, the display boards had very dry descriptions and the replica village had hardly any information up at all.Having been to other UNESCO world heritage sites it was disappointing, no attempt to bring it alive. Probably OK if you are an archeologist and know all about it anyway, but I came away none the wiser for my trip.
