“And yet another must-see...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

One of the most important churches of Cyprus, historical, artistic, religious. After being resurrected, Lazarus made it to Cyprus where he died for the second and final time. Don't miss the bauhinia tree in the square!

Ayios Lazaros is such a wonderful church which can be admired for hours. If you visit take your camera. If possible enjoy a coffee at the nearby coffee shops and admire the view!

“Church Lazarus is supposedly buried”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Interesting graveyard and buriel chamber. The bible doesn't tell us what happened to Lazarus after he was resurrected by Jesus Christ, but perhaps h e did come to Cyprus and die there. From that point of iWeb I found it interesting.

“Lazarus .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

Very beautiful interesting church right in the square in Larnaca. But how did Lazarus end up in Cyprus, and a piece of his skull in the altar? Curious!

“Byzantine memories”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

For anyone with a vivid imagination and an interest in history, this church is a must. Originally build more than a 1000 years ago, it is a testament to the early Christian origins of the town which later went through a long period of different rulers. Within its thick stone walls, the tranquil atmosphere transports one to the medieval ages , bringing to life images of different eras
