It was supposed to be shut on a Sunday in Sept, but it wasn't which was a nice surprise as it was an interesting little spot

“Larnaca Fort And Museum”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Larnaca Fort stands on the shore at the south end of ‘Phoinikoudes’corniche and was probably built during the reign of James I to protect the town’s harbour. The fort appears to have had the form of a square tower it has a courtyard in the centre. At the entrance of the fort on the north side is a two - storey building. Many rooms of the fort are used as a museum, exhibiting items related to its long history accessed by stairs. The courtyard is used for cultural events, especially during summer they have musical nights too. The lower Courtyard is accessible for Wheelchairs.
There are many Cannons in the grounds which would be of interest to children.

“Great to check out before dinner in downtown Larnaka”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

It is in a great locations, close to the main beach strip in Larnaka and restaurants. Worth a look, not expensive (1.70euro) and you can take some nice pics of the beach, fort. Museum is small but shows all the forts/ruins in Cyprus.

“better than the fort at Pafos harbour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

This was well worth the entry fee and we spent about 30 minutes walking around touring the castle. The kids love seeing the old hanging gallows and the museum upstairs. Well worth the visit if you are in the area.
