I read a few reviews of this hotel so went with tredipation. In fact although it is faded and in need of a face lift, it is comfy and homely. The staff are very good and some excellent people run each area with a bunch of others helping out. I wouldn't like to stay in high season and in any case ask for garden room on ground floor as all the sunbeds seem designated for them...not that this bar opened during our stay which was a pity as this pool is lovely especially for the nervous or kids. BUT BE WARNED the hotel has functions for all sorts (4 evenings out of the 7 days we were there) including weddings every saturday and sunday throughout the summer which means you are pushed off the sunbeds in the grounds by 16:30 to make way for organisation of, on one occaision 2,500 people filing through the hotel, round the pool and out again from 19:30 - 22:00 (we went to bed). Also on Sundays it seemed that Nicosia turned out, pinched all the sunbeds and crashed the restaurant. We had a nice week, good food and relaxing, no need to leave the hotel (there's nothing around it taht we could see).

Breakfast - excellent. Very wide choice. All-you-can-eat buffet with hot and cold food and designer omelletes cooked to order.

Amenities - disappointing. We went 3rd week in May. A lot of stuff isn't available until July and August. Room has hairdryer, kettle, tea and coffee. Good bathroom. Very clean.

Pools - great for adults. Not much shallow water for kiddies.

Beach - there isn't one. Look on Google map satellite view for the hotel beside the row of offshore breakers and you'll see.

Mosquitoes - a nuisance! Take a plug in repeller. Rooms great otherwise (we had the poolside bungalow format)

Neighbourhood - good choice of restaurants across the road from British junk to Cypriot specialities, also 3 or 4 good minisupermarkets. A lot cheaper than the shops and restaurants in Agia Napa.

Cars - good taxi office outside hotel. Airport to hotel for 18 euros. Car rental easy - never dared drive abroad before but in Cyprus it was great. Very quiet roads, courteous drivers and they drive on the left! Do your own excursions and save a packet.

Spent a week at this hotel bed and breakfast with 2 children aged 8/12 yrs. Would recommend this hotel to families and singletons, the staff could not do enough and were so friendly.
Yes, the rooms are small but that did not inconvenience us however the walls are very thin which means you can pretty much hear everything from the guests next door.
My children were very content with the pool/beach however there is limited activities for children. There is an amusement arcade area set up within the hotel but the games were not switched on and a table was set up for table tennis but no bats provided.
Eating within the hotel can be very expensive so try the restaurants outside which are reasonable and tasty otherwise go for half or full board to save on cost.

My partner and I just returned from a week at Palm Beach Hotel. To begin with we very disappointed to find that Expedia had messed up our booking, and although we had a booked a package which got us into Cyprus around 4 a.m., the hotel staff at Palm Beach made us pay for an extra half-day's accomodation inspite of the fact that expedia had promised us we could check in early, and our room was not occupied by anyone else at the time.

Although we got off to a bad start, the hotel room was very clean and comfortable, the only minus being the absence of tea-making facilities. The breakfast was fantastic with a big selection of hot and cold food. The gym was on the small side but with good, up to date equipment and there were indoor and outdoor swimming pools plus sauna, jacuzzi, table tennis and a creche if you have children. The beach was fairly narrow but nice, and you could walk or jog along the seafront. It's a good base for couples and for families. There are lots of restaurants nearby, with a good Indian and a Mexican place if you get tired of Cypriot food. It is a short distance by car from the centre of Larnaca so I would recommend that you hire a car unless you are happy to stay in the hotel the whole time. Places like Ayia Napa and Nicosia are only a half hour drive away if you fancy a change of scene. All in all, nothing out of this world, but very comfortable and a great base from which to explore Cyprus. I would definitely stay here again.
