“Average - but quite nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2010

The breakfast and breakfast staff were very friendly. The receptionists were not that friendly. They would help you, but not with a smile or enthusiasm. Sometimes I had the feeling they hunched down by the desk so as to avoid greeting you. (!) Pool area very nice. The beach on either side, when walking, was dirty, but that's not the hotel's fault, rather the municipality. Old shoes, a rusted chair upside down in a stagnant pool, etc. .... Not very nice, for a place that could have been really beautiful if they kept it better. We were there in off-season.

I have just returned from this hotel and and felt compelled to write a review as I had such a great time!
It was clean, the room was very nice and modern with patio doors that led out to a lovely view of the pool. The pool area was great, there were plenty of very comfy sun loungers. We went all inclusive and I would highly recommend this as it was great value and a very high standard. The food was excellent, and I'm a fussy eater! There was so much choice and all of it really tastey, the drinks were also excellent with a big selection of cocktails, the restaurant was lovely and set up very well, the tables were dressed formally each evening, and for lunch we sat outside each day. As soon as we sat down the waitress came over, took our drinks order and made sure we had everything we needed. All of the staff were so efficient.

As we went out of season the surrounding area was very quiet and there was not much to do, so we spent a lot of time in the hotel sunbathing, swimming, and playing table tennis.
We did hire a car and visit the Troodos mountains and Aiya Napa.
If you want a relaxing holiday I would definately recommend this hotel.

Me and my friend, we stayed in THE Princess hotel, for christmas for 2 weeks. We researched a lot, and all the reviews were ever so nice and the discription of the hotel seemed gorgeous specially all the photos of it. And the name also nudged me on the shoulder, "Let's go there, it seems great" My friend said to me. So that was a "yes" - We got to the hotel. We went in to check in, The very squeaky lady showed us to our room. Great! It was nice. We asked if the hotel was having a christmas dinner event, and they said "yes" - So I suggested we stay in our hotel for the dinners on xmas day. So when the day came, we went down to KINGS restuarant. It was all posh, the staff were asking us how many people and if we were staying in the hotel, Finally we got to our seats, the table was OK, the napkins were in a shape of...not sure but they were there instead of plates!! We got up and went to the buffay, "This is nice isn't it? Buffays are better then waitresses asking you what you want" My friend told me as we were walking. I didn't answer, wasn't too sure. "It's not as big as Sandy" I said, as we'd been to Sandy Beach Hotel which was fab. We grabbed a plate and went around looking what they had. They didn't have anything I would like, As i'm a Vegan, not a meat eater. My friend isn't so she was happy to grab all the food they was. The only thing i could have and had on my plate was creamy pasta with veg in it and roast potatoes which were lovely. My friend and I sat down. The lady came over asking us what we would like to drink. We both said coke as it was a better choice. When they came, as i drank i could smell the eggy smell on the glass. It was GROSS. Our knives & forks were stinky as well. The staff kept standing around us, and the dessert was BORING. -

So tiny selection to choose from. --Me and my friend were happy to leave there, their food was gross including the forks and knives and spoons. And the rooms were a bit dodgy. ---Sandy Beach is NO1!!

ONLY best thing about princess hotel was the location, gorgeous beach walk and long beach.

I stayed in this hotel after searching on the net for really good clean hotels and found this to be the best, check out their website www.louishotels.com to be assured. My kids loved playing in the pool which was very clean & warm. We stayed in the adjacent Garden Pool rooms which are much bigger and worth paying a little extra. Staff were all very polite and the variety of food was very good with different themes each night.
Lots of shops and takeaways across the road to check out with a throw stone away for the beach. The sea was really shallow upto the bunch of rocks 100m out in the sea. Altogether a really, really great stay, Go for it if you have a family & kids or even a romantic stay.

We went end of October 2009 for 10 days , the hotel is very nice, But the location wasn't. There is not much to do around the local area out of season, speaking to the locals tourism has suffered a great due to the financial climate and it is pretty much the same in season.
We stayed in a garden view room which overlooked the pool and and we could see the sea from our room.
Our room was lovely, very spacious, dbl bed . 2 leather sofas, flat screen TV and nice en suite bathroom.
We met a cple who booked a mountain view room and although it was nice it is very small and they had a old fashioned bulky tv, so would recommend spending the extra £'s and booking a garden room.
The hotel is 4* for abroad, but would be a 3* in England.
It is very clean, staff are excellent, food very nice, lunches are better than the dinners, and there local drinks are great. They have very good cocktails.
The Hotel has a lovely pool, the Jacuzzi did not work, the sauna and steam room are very old and needs a refurb but did the trick, the Gym is a joke, all the equipment is rusty, the treadmill is the only thing in there that looks safe.
The only channel we could get was BBC world news, apparently staff said the satellite was down, but people that were there long before us was told the same story so be prepared if you love TV, you will miss it a great deal.

There is Internet access to check facebook, lol, in main reception 1 euro for 15 mins or if you bring your laptop like we did you can get 1 hour for 4 euros or 24 hours for 10 euro, but the 24 hours is in 1 shoot cannot use a couple hours here and there. There is also a local shop on the premises were you can English newspapers and gifts etc.

There is a bar right opposite the hotel 30 seconds away, nice 3-4 huge flat screen TV's to watch the footle, pool table and nice music, drinks reasonably priced too, behind that is a club , and a British type pub.

There is a ATM machine also across the road.

The safe in your room is 5 euros per day, bit of a rip off I think.

There is 2 table tennis tables, a football table , 2 pool tables @ 2 euros ago and a darts board, there is a tennis court which we had great fun playing.
You can pay for things in your own local currency in the hotel ,if you ran out of euros that is handy
There was little to no evening entertainment, just some old man playing a electronic piano that sounded like he .was playing for a funeral. Not good at all.
We had some nice walks along the beach front, but there is no sand just grit.
If the Hotel was in a better location it would have been a good holiday but there was not much to do.
You can take a bus to local shopping area in Larnaca bay for 1 euro 30, about 20 mins away or a taxi for 10 euros. But you can walk out that shopping centre in 1 hour , lots a shops you would see back home, McD's , KFC, Star bucks, TGIF, M & S,Body shop, Wallis , Debenhams, Dorthoty Perkins, Evans, few Designer shops, Parda , Gucci, LV etc and rest tourist shops. Beach onone side shops on the other.

From Larnaca bay you can take a bus to Ayia Napa for 10 euros, but be aware the last bus back to Larnaca is 5pm. Otherwise can take a cab for around 70 euros.

You can also take a taxi from the airport to the hotel cost us 20 euro's booked with this company by email before we went out :cyprus-taxi-transfers.com

Would I go back again, Yes , but I would like to go in the heart of the summer to compare for myself the difference, but as far as the hotel goes, It is a very good hotel, and if they sorted out the few little faults it would be a great hotel.

We have uploaded some pix , not many cause the rest we are in .
