“Pleasant Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in March. We went as Saga guests and enjoyed the stay very much indeed. We upgraded to a sea facing room in the main building; the room being reasonably well equipped and practically furnished. The bathroom was quite small with little hanging and shelf space. However this didn't mar our stay in any way.

A very big factor in making our stay enjoyable was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them; they would actually seek us out to make sure that all was well with our holiday.

We were 'all inclusive', therefore ate all our meals in the hotel. Food was good with an excellent variety of options for each meal. Service throughout the hotel was excellent.

The hotel is situated in a pleasant area with quite a number of shops and restaurants close by and pleasant walks available along the sea front.

This is a hotel that we would both be happy to return to.

Room Tip: If/when we return, rather than booking a sea-facing room we would prefer one of the slightly cheaper...

We are just leaving this hotel, and felt it needed a mention. The staff here are very good. The hotel is clean and nothing is too much trouble for them. We had a problem after the first night with the neighbour next door, which was noisy and gross. I mentioned to reception and immediately they moved and upgraded us. The pool area is lovely and quiet, I don't know if this is because it is early in the season. If you need anything for the room they are there in minutes to sort out problems or extra housekeeping. Wifi is 30euros for the week and the safe is 2euros a day. The food is average with lots of choice. Average because it was never hot, but edible for a week. The wine was unfortunately cheap which let the place down,we bought our own wine which was cheap and much more palatable, but overall we had a very pleasant stay and would return.

Room Tip: The bungalows around the pool are nicer than the hotel block

My wife and I have just returned (28th March) after a 17-day stay at the Princess. We found the facilities, location and food to be of a high standard. Our room was in the pool area and faced south, which was great for balcony sunbathing. More importantly, when I ran into a serious health problem the help forthcoming from the staff was outstanding. I would particularly praise Clara (PR) and Maria (Front Desk Manager).Together with our tour company rep Andy they took a lot of the sting out of a major crisis. Money can't buy that sort of service.

Room Tip: The rooms around the pool seemed to be superior.

My wife and i stayed 19/03 to 26/03 all inclusive. The room we stayed in bungalow style 1st floor was very nice, spotlessly clean and kept that way throughout our stay by the hard working housekeeping team. We had a nice view of the pool and partial sea view. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly from check in with anna, and all the bar staff simon, chrisis, chara and others who's names i can't remember, also the restaurant staff were equally friendly and helpful i think the restaurant manager should appreciate that fact. The hot food was just about lukewarm and plates not kept hot enough in the plate warmers, the soup was trying to be kept hot with a couple of tea lights under the cauldron, which wasn't very successful either as on one occasion my wife noticed 1 of them had gone out. This a lovely hotel but the temperature of the food in our opinion lets it down.

Room Tip: 1st floor bungalow rooms with pool and partial sea view.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

From the beginning of our holiday to the end (16th-23rd March 2014), we couldn't have asked for a better hotel to spend our time. Myself and my boyfriend were with our (almost) 5 month old daughter here. The staff were more than willing to help if we needed something for her. Practically going above and beyond to make sure she was happy, including Clara singing to her everyday whenever she saw her, which just made me think, she really didn't need to go out of her working day to stop and make a baby smile, but she did and that was amazing and one of the many things that made it a great holiday! The rest of the staff that we had the pleasure of meeting was Kiri (the entertainer) and Simon (barman). Kiri was sweet and funny, he made the entertainment enjoyable and is a pleasure to be around and speak to. Simon was also a pleasure to speak to and made time to ask how our day was and laugh and joke around was a priority on his list! The girls who waitress in the restaurant are so hard working and could teach a few of the British restaurant workers a thing or two! The staff on Reception were happy to explain how to get into Larnaca (as it's about 7km away), (which was a bus for 1 Euro 50). On the last day of our holiday we had to leave our room (501) by 12pm, but because of having to change the baby (they don't have any baby changing facilities in the toilets) Clara managed to sort out a place where we could take her to change before we left for the Airport. It's little things like that, that makes a holiday special and we want to thank all the staff at the Princess Beach Hotel for doing such a lovely job and look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Room Tip: We would recommend asking for a bungalow.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014

I have recently returned from the 4* Princess Hotel. Firstly however did it get a 4 star rating. As previously mentioned the towels are so thin and ragged, one day the towel even had a hole in it.
The hotel charges for everything - wifi - sauna and steam - safe deposit boxes - even to weigh your suitcase before you leave.
The drinks are the real issue, whether on all inclusive or paying for drinks - they are made with cheap ingredients. There is no pure fruit juice - only a concentrate. Wine is in boxes and poor quality. The pinacolada was so bad that I asked them to make again and watched how they made it - fruit punch and cows milk!! I asked why they did not use coconut milk or cream but they have none - my guess it is to keep the costs down.
The food is quantity over quality. But there were always fresh salads.
There are only 2 lifts and one lift was broken throughout our stay and other guests advised it had been broken for a week before.
There was limited entertainment offered by the hotel and unfortunately the only other hotel within walking distance was closed as were most of the local amenities. A very poor location.
Overall a very disappointing stay.

Room Tip: For a little extra the balcony rooms are prefereable.

We have been back for 2 weeks now. We stayed at the Princess Beach Hotel for 1 week and enjoyed our stay. We are very happy with this hotel. The hotel is in a quiet area of Larnaca with some restaurants and long promenade. The beach is not sandy, however, when you get in the water the sand is soft and not too deep for children, which is ideal. The staff are friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a garden room which was nice and our room was very clean and comfortable, although the corridor is outdated and need redecoration. The food is lovely, many dishes and salad etc to choose from, including chicken, fish, lamb, pork, beef, different cheeses, salads and desert. We really enjoyed the food as it was so varied and tasty. The only drawback about this hotel is the WiFi which has to be paid at an extra cost.

We would like to return in future to the Princess beach as we had really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: High floor room with garden or Sea view.
