“Memorable Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

At Princess Beach Hotel we stayed for 3 days and 4 nights from 30th Nov to 4th Dec, 2013. The temperature was approx to 18 to 19 degree. We enjoyed our stay at princess hotel, if you are a Mediterranean food lover then you'll this hotel as the right choice. Their are daily activities to to entertain their guest. The staff and even the local cyprus people are really obliging and helping. Finokardus city and the Larnaca airport is 15-20 mins taxi drive from the hotel. They charge Eur.25 for taxi and if you are taking local bus which is blue in color they charge Euro 1.50. Over-all experience at larnaca was awesome. Tips : The best season to travel by April to August for beach lovers and for water sports activities.

Room Tip: We had booked sea view double room, it was quite enough spacious for couples, but if you have kids t...

This hotel is not a four star hotel for numerous reasons. Firstly I cannot be a 100% negative. There are some really nice staff at the hotel, like Christina a waitress, always smiling and a real sweetie. The food was great 6 out of the 7 evenings. BUT. The negatives. And there are a few. The rooms are very tired, battered and dirty. There are no complimentary hand creams etc, this is standard in nearly all the 4* hotels I have ever stayed in. The towels stink of bleach and I wouldn't use one on my dog..they are so old and rough.
They charge extra...ten euros a day to access the Internet, this should be basically free. The are weighing scales to weigh your luggage, but you have to pay for this. The hotel has a gym, but is kept locked. You have to ask for it to be opened. There is a spa ham man, but this again is extra. What is included, is very minimal.
On booking, I asked for a quiet room, and ended up in a bungalow, with noise above and next door. The management invite guests to a drinks half hour on Fridays and ask for feedback, but I cannot believe that they are NOT aware about how shabby this hotel really is. We stayed on a half board basis and every evening asked if we wanted drinks with our meals. All about making money.
Every evening there is a pile of managers standing about, chit chatting with guests. They need to get rid of one or two time wasters and look at their hotel. I would never stay at this hotel, or the Louis chain again.
This hotel is not in Larnaca. It is outside of Larnaca. We hired a car, for ease, but there is public transport, other guests giving themselves an hour to get to Larnaca by public transport.
This hotel is for people in their 50s. It is for people who are not bothered about standards and entertainment. This hotel is rough around the edges. People who stayed for longer than a week, said that the same things were repeated each week. This hotel needs to check out real 4* hotels and drag itself to their standards. (I could smell the bleached towels as soon as I entered the hotel room, if you like bleach smelling towels, you will love this hotel).

Room Tip: I suggest that you spend some extra time and book another hotel, as I asked for a quiet room, and di...

Had 4 nights at hotel for our anniversary. Hotel food excellent. Have to say never seen so many old people .nothing wrong with old people but set the ambience of a very very quiet holiday. Quietest ive ever been to. Glad i didnt take the kids. Reception not the best, seemed reluctant to help. Not many bars open this time of year. If you want to do nothing this is the place for you.

Have just returned from a 3 weeks stay here, on all inclusive. We were in the 'bungalows' down the side of the pool, and these were spacious and fairly well appointed. We were welcomed by Clara, the hotel PR, and from the first minute we were made to feel welcome and relaxed. As reported in other reviews, the area around the hotel is a little run down, but considering how badly Greece has been affected by the financial crisis, it is not surprising. What is also not well known is that the hotel was due to reopen under new management earlier this year, and just before opening had a fire that set things back.It is a credit to all concerned that they still managed to open on schedule. Do not let the are comments put you off, as it is not a major issue, and this is compensated for by the service level which is exceptional. Any minor problems were quickly resolved, and overall we had an excellent holiday.
The staff here are very hard working with a very cheerful disposition, and nothing was too much trouble. From the housemaids to the Hotel Manager, we were made to feel welcome, and frequently were asked if all was OK. How many hotels care to that extent?
There are some real characters on the staff, from the Chef,(Demis Roussos lookalike), to Kiri on entertaining, and Fivos in the bar, all had a great sense of humour, but beware of the chef and his assistant, a young lady from Poland, as they only serve to encourage you to eat more by keep recommending new things to try. All the meals were superbly presented, and well cooked, with a great variety. There are different themed evenings throughout the week, and it is difficult to say no to such lovely food.
The newly decorated lobby is relaxing and tastefully decorated.
Entertainment is provided 6 nights a week by the hotel, and has a wide variety of types from Greek traditional to a Tina Turner tribute, magician, etc, so there is always something to suit your taste.
Go to the daytime cookery, and the cocktail demonstrations. The head Chef and his assistant show how to make real Greek food, and it is well worth going, even when he is being heckled by local Greek old ladies who have a different take on his recipes. Most enjoyable The cocktail demonstrations with Fivos in the bar are light hearted and at times very funny, and he conjures up all sorts of interesting drinks!
One last word about the staff, who really are to congratulated. They are efficient, friendly, and very attentive, all being prepared to go that extra bit to make your holiday. If we were to single out one person who made all the difference, it would be Clara, the hotel PR. She seems to be everywhere, and yet not intrusive, and her welcome into dinner at night that she tries to give to all is a lovely touch. More hotels could take a note of this.
Well done to all, we give you full marks for effort! Deserves to be higher rated.

Room Tip: In the summer, ask for the bungalows to the left of the hotel as you look at it from the beach, and...

This hotel is nothing special, but considering the price is not a disappointment. I would not spend more than a day or two here, and even less - a honeymoon or something like that. It has a lousy breakfast. The beach in front is nothing special. Note that it is a couple of kilometres from Larnaca.
Rooms have only one power socket. Do not forget the UK adapter.

This was our first stay at this hotel. We found the Princess Beach a relaxing and comfortable place to stay. The biggest highlight was the staff who were warm, friendly and welcoming. They were very efficient and worked hard to make our stay very enjoyable.

The hotel employs Clara to make sure that the guests are happy. She went out of her way to promptly resolve any issues (not that there were many). She and other members of staff organised entertainment Monday to Saturday. In the afternoon there was a variety of games and demonstrations which were all fun to attend. In the evenings, there was a variety of performances including an Elvis impersonator, a magician, local dance and music acts. All were enjoyable.

The food was absolutely fantastic. There was an excellent variety of well-presented and top quality dishes, usually themed. The chef, Ermis, is a real character as well as an excellent cook. The restaurant staff were extremely friendly and very efficient. The restaurant is run on a self-serve basis and the drinks/clearing away service is very quick, but not intrusive. The kitchen and waiting staff regularly checked to make sure there was enough food and that the serving areas remained clean and tidy. The staff were always happy to explain the contents of the dishes and do all they could to cater for special diets.

The bar staff looked after us really well. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis, and the choice of drinks was reasonable. The service was excellent.

The housekeeping staff kept our room was very clean, changing towels daily and were quick to respond to any requests.

We stayed for 10 nights end of October/beginning November, and the weather was between 26 and 28 during the middle part of the day. A light breeze helped to make this very comfortable. There were plenty of sunbeds and free beach towels.

We didn’t venture very far as we had everything we needed at the hotel. We had a great time and are planning our return!

Room Tip: We had a mountain view room which was cool and suited us

We have previously visited this hotel, under the "Louis" group management, 6 times over the last 5 years and were looking forward to seeing the recent renovations and changes, if any, now it has broken away on its own. Overall we were not disappointed.
The restaurant, reception area and lobby have all been very tastefully renovated and seemed much brighter and therefore more spacious than before. The gardens and pools are still very well looked after with plenty of sunbeds for everyone and free use of the hotel towels for use by the pool and on the beach was appreciated. The beach bar was open but we were disappointed to see that food was no longer being served there due to it having been closed down for the winter.
The room ( we had a garden room on the first floor) had not been renovated along with the front of the hotel but was kept spotlessly clean by the hard working housekeeping staff every day with regular clean towels and bed linen. The bathroom could have done with a re-paint and the tile grouting was breaking up in places and we were disappointed to see old, thin, Louis logo towels - (time to invest in new ones, we thought) but was also kept spotlessly clean.
The food was fantastic - a really good choice everyday - and the waiting staff were very hard working and friendly. It was also good to see some of the old faces from previous visits!
My main disappointment was the choice of drinks included in the all inclusive package. As someone who does not drink beer nor wine I would have really appreciated "proper" soft drinks such as Coke and Lemonade. These were only available from a pump and frankly were undrinkable. I know water is healthy but I've never drunk so much in my life! Also, the bar staff were unsure as to the all inclusive rules. One time Keo was included, then the next time not, then the next day it was back on. Also, one day the cocktail "Ouzu special" was included, next day it wasn't. It seemed that the different staff had different rules - very confusing!
There are a few bars and restaurants just outside the hotel but the area is very run down with a lot of empty units. However, with the all inclusive package we didn't really need them. The hotel is situated about 15 minutes drive from the airport (25 Euros by taxi) and a bus ride away from the centre of Larnaca (1.50 Euros each way)
All in all this is a really good hotel for a quiet, lazy time in the sun (which shone for us all week!) with friendly, hard working staff.
With a few small changes it would be perfect!
