“Good location near beach, good price, nice rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2014

Friendly service, clean and recently renovated rooms. We left early in the morning so couldn't sample the breakfast.
The room featured free bottled water and fresh fruit.
Location is good - not right on the beach, but a few minute walk.
Good value for the money.

Room Tip: ask for a room on a high floor with a sea view

This hotel was booked by my business partner for 2 nights as a quick stay close to the airport. I noticed on the hotel site that 'non-smoking' rooms are available upon request the day before we arrived - it looked a bit suspicious. I emailed to confirm a non smoking room for late arrival - to my relief, promptly received a response confirming a non-smoking room.

Scroll to 1 am arrival the following day - today. Pleasant check-in clerk confirms 'non-smoking' room.

Scroll to the actual room. It is a room where nobody probably smoked for the last 2 days, and where the anti-smoke spray was applied extensively a few hours earlier. It smells like anti-smoke spray masking the smoke. Complete with ashtray on the table and cigarette holes in the curtains. And of course, there are no other rooms available - and I suspect, there are no truly non-smoking rooms here at all. "Upon request" means 'we will spray a lot before you check in'.

Tomorrow before 9 am I'll need to find out if there is a truly non-smoking room available here, but chances are, I'll just check out and move elsewhere. Just to reiterate - it's ok if the hotel does not have non-smoking rooms. It's not ok to confirm a non smoking room in the morning for a guest arriving in the middle of the night, and then put her in the last smoking room 12 hrs later.

Otherwise - I'd give the room 'poor' to 'average' score - it is probably ok for the price, but it's not very clean, water pressure is low, and the furniture feels really cheap. Single use bathroom toiletries were half-empty (but the soap was in fresh packaging.. hooray!) - good thing i bring my own.

Don't think I'll be coming by again.

Central hotel, ideal for our over night stop, for picking up our late landing family from Larnaca airport. Easy to get a meal. Lack of parking could be a problem, but private pay parking at rear of hotel is usually available. The town centre one way system can make finding the hotel difficult, but the directions given are quite easy to follow, as is the map. Breakfast was surprisingly very good with plenty of choice both hot and cold. Set in a very clean and spacious dinning room. Lunch and evening meals are available to those on half and full board. The hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard.

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear over look car park, to the front over look the road and the rear of McDonalds and...

My husband and I have stayed at the Amorgos for one or two nights at the beginning and end of our last two holidays in Cyprus. Each time we have been impressed with the friendliness of the entire staff and the way the hotel is run with calm and quiet efficiency. They have gone out of their way to be helpful and welcoming, even helping me do the online check-in for my return flight on their own office computer.
We usually book a superior room for just a few extra euros and, while the view is of a back street car park with local cats, it is a good size with comfortable beds and nice shower. Lovely free stuff in the bathroom, plus complimentary bowl of fruit, big bottle of water and two small bottles of wine. The breakfast buffet is excellent with loads of hot and cold food to choose from including more unusual items such as a variety of fresh and dried fruits and nuts..
The hotel is conveniently situated just one minute's walk from the seafront with its lovely promenade and sandy beach and all the restaurants and bars you could wish for. It is less than a minute to walk to the taxi rank if you want to pay 12 euros to go the airport or just five minutes away from the bus stop from where you can get to the airport for just 1 euro in about twenty minutes max.
It's an excellent base for exploring Larnaca which has a lot more to offer than first appears and we will not hesitate to book again next time we visit Cyprus.

Unfortunately i am writing this review based on a bad experience i had with this hotel and i have written many reviews on tripadvisor (all good) but we felt very let down by our treatment with the unprofessional receptionist at check in.

A good friend of mine was to celebrate her 40th birthday and we chose this hotel based on the good reviews and as we live in Cyprus we were able to see and choose the adjoining rooms we wanted, great we thought, two adjoining rooms with single beds for four ladies, perfect! We made a reservation and left.

Three days before we were due to arrive my friend phoned the hotel to confirm the reservation and was told "the rooms are still reserved". However when we arrived at the hotel the receptionist told us she could not find the booking and we explained we had seen the rooms previously and that the booking was confirmed to which she replied "are you sure you have the right hotel", unbelievable since we had been there already!

After ten minutes the same conversation was still going on and the receptionist finally told us the rooms we booked were not available and been taken by someone else. By this time we asked to see the manager who was also "not available", surprise! After some time she then told us the rooms we booked were under construction, how could that be as she had already said they had been taken.

Finally, after more debating, by some miracle she eventually found our booking. But she could only come up with two double rooms (not adjoining) and that we had to wait until 5pm (ish) to get them. It was not what we booked and we were not prepared to wait for another three hours.

By this time our trust and patience with the receptionist had run out so we left and were lucky enough to get adjoining rooms in the hotel around the corner and check in almost immediately by a more professional and kind receptionist.

This awesome little hotel is just one block back from the beach front, behind the McDonalds. Service is top notch, breakfast service has incredible variety and quality for such a small hotel. Rooms are clean and modern. Tall apartment bldgs along the beach front preclude nice views but there are dozens of great restaurants and bars just steps from your front door. If you are coming from the airport and wish to save some money you can forget the 15 Euro Taxi and take the #425 bus three stops to Finikoudes Beach. Walk thru the McDonalds, out the back door (on left side in restaurant) and you come out right in front of Amorgos Hotel. I will stay here again for sure if I am back in Larnaca!

Room Tip: higher floors seem to be a bit quieter, but this is a very busy beach tourist neighborhood.

Just about to check out after 4 nights at this hotel. I can't find any fault with it. The service is friendly. The rooms are clean and well sized. The bed was perfectly comfortable. The breakfast was good. The hotel is modern and clean. It is well situated, near the sea front and shopping areas.

One piece of information which may be useful for people with poor sense of direction like me (especially if you arrive in the evening, hungry, with a bellyful of British Airways 15yo Glenlivet). Until you get your bearings, all you need to know is turn right outside the hotel, at the bottom of the road, turn left and walk down the alleyway next to KFC. You will come out on to the sea front where there are a myriad of bars and restaurants.

I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend and will be recommending it to anyone I know who wants to visit Larnaca.
