“Good value for the money !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2010

We have been at HENIPA between 22nd and 29nth October2010, for 7 nights, with full board.
The hotel has a big, nice lounge and a very big yard full of palms, pools, a jacuzzy etc. Very clean !
The size of the rooms was normal, and they were clean. We had a kind of family suite = 2 rooms linked by a double door, and a commune balcony (rooms 211+212) with view to the Mediterranean Sea.
The Hotel is located at outskirt of Larnaka. To go into the center of the town you may take the bus no. 430 (the station is near hotel), the journey is 8-10 minutes, and the full day ticket is 2 Euros.
Full board was a mistake because we made few long trips through the island, so we could not take the lunch. I recommend half board: there are plenty of good, tasty and varied food (buffet). We were impressed by the concern of the chef cook - Mr. Tassos Patsyas - who, during the dinner, used to walks between tables in order to find out the guests opinions.
The staff was very helpful and careful. I want to mention the receptionist Danny and the waitresses Elena, Adriana, Christina.
We had great sunny weather and warm water, very good to swim. The near beach has pebbles.

having read the reviews, I was concerned about what we had let ourselves in for, BUT, I have to say that we had a great time. It must be remembered that this is a 3 star hotel, and I have rated it accordingly. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking the pool, it was a very good size, clean and tidy with a very good bathroom. The shower was great. We were booked on a bed and breakfast basis, and found the breakfast menu again very good. The hotel itself has very nice public areas, however the corridors do need a lick of paint, and the bed linen, whilst well laundered, could do with replacing. The drinks are expensive unless you are on all inclusive. There is however a fabulous restaurant directly opposite the hotel called Olea, which serves excellent food and drinks, would recommend it. Will we return to the Henipa - Yes definitely.

This hotel was lovely, the room was very spacious and comfortable. It was a great place to relax and very good value for money.
The swimming pool was nice and it was good to relax on the chairs nearby.
The food was ok and buffet style but the staff were very friendly.
My husband is going to take is daughter out next June

We arrived 8.40pm and checked in, all inclusive but were NOT told meals were ending soon and that there would be nowhere to get anything. Nice reception but no air con on. As August is Cyprus' hottest and they were having exceptional humdity it was sweltering, desk staff were dripping. Got in a small dirty , hot, lift to ride rooms. We unpacked as best we could in the v small, dated, grubby hotel room which consisted of 2 x hard twin beds sanwiched together barely enough room to walk around then a bunk bed no morethan 12" away, air con vent directly above top sleeping area so uncomfortable and noisy for sleeper. no room under beds for cases so you constantly tripped over trying to get around. showered because so uncomfortanbly hot so was about 10.30 by time we got to bar to be told no food served at that time so we went out to find a bar or restaurant, everything was closed apart from a convenience store way past the fire station to end of road on right, selling clingfilm baps. Your in the back of beyond, shallow pebble beach only within walking distance. On return to hotel went to get a drink and was told the bar was closed, head barman said serve them but charge as its now11.05pm (11pm cut off for all inc AGAIN WERENT TOLD AT CHECK IN!)
Next day spoke to the very helpfull Simon on reception who upgraded us F.O.C. (as they weren't full contrary to advice from sunmaster when booking) to a bungalow. Lovley clean split level apartment, proper double bed and sep air con, wardrobe, flat screen tv & modern bath/shower upstairs.
Stairs are marble tile & have no banister so not suitable for young children. Downstairs faux leather sofa, couple of occasional tables, plenty elec sockets, balcony to pool & put you up beds for kids. Food very bland and samey, serving staff very polite and friendly, especially derby chef and anna @ bar. The head barman a bit dipsy kept getting orders wrong. Hot snacks basic but ideal for teenagers that dont want to sit down for breakfast and lunch.
Swim up bar is the only bar serving and you couldn't swim up to get served as never enough staff on to serve drinks, snacks, cocktails, icecreams and complaints about the massive que's and eastern europeans q jumping! Way too many items being used from central plug point at bar staff nearly electrocuted themselves trying to make iced cocktails/Frappes. You can use both outdoor pools at night.
The advertised Crown coctail bar is beautifull, but was never open and air conditioning never on, a real waste & dissapointment at night as your stuck literaly on chairs around back pool bar, listening to the looped musac! Only 2 entertainers twice a week, both awfull cheesey singers, no disco as advertised. No kids club as advertised. Only entertainment for kids a tiny and airless games room, vending air hocky & Pool machines regularly broken, outside table tennis too badly lit for eve's & kept losing balls as too near stairs down to breakfast room .
Went to Ayia Napa Waterworld for the day, again staff were helpfull but not knowledgale about how to get there as bus routes had changed & they had no timetables and flyers in reception offering trips there were out of date. No reps or Books for our holiday firm SUNMASTER available.
Indoor pool closed and gym run down, damp and most equipment unusable, looked like it hadnt been used in years unlike official hotel pictures.
The manager held a swish event for non residents 1 evening at the lower walk in pool which meant service at our bar at the back pool was even worse than usual and caused a lot of discontent as they had put so much effort into entertaining the non paying visitors at our expense it seemed!
on our last days a group of russians took over the lower pools drinking their own stuff around pool at night, being roudy & smashing glasses near the edge of pool, a night manager told them to clear off but the glass was still there in the morning and we had to insist it was cleared away immediatelt & the pool was checked for glass as they seemed unconcerned. In daytime the loud russians took over the jacuzi & sat smoking cigars etc flicking into pool, drinking heavily which was intimidating for kids and adults alike but a manager just turned a blind eye after a wad of cash was handed to him.
Overall if you can get a really cheap deal on bungalows and have a car its a good base as pools are nice, but food and entertainment lets it down badly.

Please note:The rating i have given is based on the bungalow. NOT the hotel rooms.

The reception is nice and clean, however the rooms in the hotel were a big disapointment. They need to be refurbished majourly our celing was leaking, the shower did not work properly. The room and bathroon was small. As for the catering service as we walked past the kitchen area we noticed the kitchen had no air con. The chef was sweating terribley because of the heat from the weather and her cooking which put me and my finacee off. As it was out first morning there we decided to just have some cereal for breakfast. As we entered the eating area we noticed all the plates were black! I asked the staff and this was apparently due to burnt plates. This sounded very bizzare to me.

We ended up having to pay extra to stay in the bungalows which was worth it, they were very nice, clean and new. The rating i have given is based on the bungalows not the rooms or eating area. The pool area was very nice, clean and child friendly. The location was not great and the beach oppisite was pebbely but we rented a car and found a nice beach 5 minutes down the road, were shops and resurants are found. If you have children go Water World Ayia Napa. Go to the main part of Larnaca, Finikoues were Loads of shops Resturants and Bars are found near the beach, you can get a cab there which will take about 15 minutes and cost you about 12 Euros. On the hole i would only recomend this hotel if you are staying in the new bungalow with no food included.

We recently stayed at the Crown Resorts Henipa and upon entering the reception was very pleased although not air conditioned. First impression was this is nice....then we stepped into the lift which was small, not air conditioned and looked dirty. Then we walked into our room which was exteremely disappointing, carpeted floors which looked to me as if they had never seen a hoover, poor air conditioning and generally needed a good upgrade.
The 3 pools are really nice with plenty of sunbeds, the pool bar is a plus but with only 1 member of staff working be prepared to wait.
Food...ah the food not much by way of choice for kids...although the all inclusive menu is good for kids. Pretty much the same thing every day...
Location was poor, it advertises a private beach....took one look and didn't go back it was very small and pebbles (no sand).

All in all we were very disappointed in this hotel, we can honestly say we will never go back!!!!
