“Eat where the locals eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

This is always one of the first stops whenever we visit Larnaka (which is often as it is my partners home town), the only Kleftico that is better is the one my mother in law cooks. The walk down past the fort is trickier now that the road works are being done but we are assured that once they finish the view will be even better than it was before. If you want to eat where the local go to eat this is the place, if you want to eat basic tourist tat there are loads of other places you can go and you will pay more at them.

“Rubbish!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

Ordered lamb souvla. It was obviously re-heated which was awful. We ordered drinks which turned up after the food had arrived. Will never go back.

“the best local dishes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Has not changed much in over 20 years since i first went there. Friendly staff. Serving good traditional Cypriot food its much better than you will find anywhere along the seafront. The Kleftico is still one of the best around and their house made yoghourt is amazing and the Pilaf is great .Sits right in front of the sea with a nice and quite atmosphere.
They have a Parking next to the restaurant. it is important because until May 2014 the road is under renovation and they a building a promenade so you can not park in front of the restaurant like in the past. so look around ot gto their parking next to the enternce in a small street!!! it is a wonderful restaurant not to be missed! i will be back

“Amazing food!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

Speech less regarding the food! The best meat I've ever tasted!!! The beef, lamb, chicken and all the rest are simply flawless!
You should try their "home" made red wine... also excellent!
Sits right in front of the sea with a nice and quite atmosphere.
And after every thing is said, for the prices... ridiculous cheap! We were 9 friends, ordered something like 7 main courses, salads, halumi cheese (!!!!!!), 3 bottles of wine, water, some alcohol and some other stuff... we paid 154 euro for every thing...

Ideal place!

“You needn't feel quilty....occasionally!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

I am one of those unfortunate people who, due to a systematic tendency to enjoy the pleasures of life, are overweight. In particular, I cannot avoid enjoying a delicious meal, however catastrophic that may be to my health, and postpone reasonable and beneficial decisions for a time to come. That usually happens when I visit a well-known restaurant like MILITZIS RESTAURANT facing the blue clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea in Larnaca, Cyprus. Maybe this is due to a rather weak character, but how can I avoid choosing from the abundance of delicious dishes made of fresh meat, vegetables and a variety of other ingredients served with appetizers of your choice, ice-cold beer or a bottle of chilled Cyprus wine if you resist drinking a second one?

My favourite dishes are “Kleftiko”, pieces of lamb meat cooked along with fresh Cyprus potatoes in a traditional village oven made from bricks and mud (€8,50 per portion), Lamb liver, cooked in a casserole with onions, wine and spices (€10,50 per portion), “Tavas”, pieces of lamb and beef meat cooked with small pieces of potatoes, onions, tomatoes and spices in the village oven, (€7,75 per portion), “Pilaf”, crushed wheat (€2,20-3,20 per portion) served with cyprus yogurt(€1,75-3,15), “Souvla”, small pieces of lamb meat on the spit cooked over charcoal (€10,50 per portion). All main meals are accompanied by a freshly-made green salad (€1,75-3,20). These are just a few suggestions to choose from. One final suggestion: Do not be shy to ask for a plastic bag and a container at the end, provided free of charge, because, despite your persistent efforts, you will never make it and you will have a free extra meal for the following day! So, enjoy it and you needn’t feel quilty doing that......occasionally!
