Having recently spend 12 days at the Onar Village Hotel in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus, these are our thoughts about this delightful, family run hotel. We found the staff friendly and very helpful. The hotel was very clean in every area and extremely peaceful which made for a relaxing holiday. The views are outstanding as the hotel is on a hill looking straight down to the castle in Kyrenia. At this present time you can't walk into town but this wasn't a problem as it was only about a mile and minutes away by courtesy bus or taxi. Breakfast is typically Turkish but a cooked breakfast is available at a supplement. We were bed and breakfast but ate in the hotel restaurant a few times and enjoyed every meal we had. We found their prices for food and drink the same as in the town. We also had the good fortune to meet Yener who is the hotel co-ordinator and the old fashioned 'worth his weight in gold' certainly applies. He spoke perfect English and was so helpful in every way. As this was our first visit to Northern Cyprus Yener explained alot about the history of the island. He pointed us in the right direction for eating out and even arranged our taxis and booked our tables, nothing was too much trouble. Every day he came to see if all was OK. We would certainly return to the Onar Village Hotel and we know there are re-vamps going on at this minute. We had a lovely holiday. Another plus is being able to walk around Kyrenia and not worry about crime or being pestered.
