Stayed in January for 3 days. The hotel was super clean, check in and out very professional. Friendly staff and very good breakfast choices. Hey and the breakfast hall has some excellent views as well. It was January but the weather was quite mild so we spent a good amount of time at the balcony of our room and enjoyed the breathtaking views. It was like being on a ship deck and I told to my friend, this surely is one of the best views ever. Plus, it is so central. You can walk to the harbour, you can do your shopping and yes, there is a great variety of casinos around!
Well, ok, the hotel is old and so is the furniture, but it is not a super expensive hotel so what do you expect? For the price paid, the quality is awesome!

Room Tip: Seaside rooms of course

We had a short break here from the 2-4 January 2013. Found the hotel to be very clean, and the staff exceptionally helpful.
The casinos quite an experience, as I had never been. You are limited to 3 drinks in there, but if you smoke they will provide you with free cigarettes, and your 3 drinks are free as well.
My friends wanted a different room, as theirs had single beds, this was not a problem, and they moved to the ground floor, with the waves literally lapping at their balcony. I stayed up on the 4th floor, which had gorgeous views, and was lovely and quiet.
Only down side needed some wine in the mini bar to chill out and relax on the balcony of an evening to enjoy the views.
Mini bar pretty basic, one bag of nuts, water, beer and a few soft drinks and spirits.
Main Hotel bar - Heineken 9.00 Turkish Lira/ Absolute Vodka & Coke 13.00 turkish lira/ Small Glass Wine 8.00 Turkish Lira.
And if you fancy a soak in the bath, it will take a few calls to reception/housekeepinng to have one sent to your room! Which seemed rather odd.
Would stay there again.

Room Tip: 405 top floor lovely views, double bed, very comfortable - quiet. 111 - Ground floor same as above...

If you have no intention whatsoever to sleep and wanna party until the early morning, come to the Dome Hotel in Girne. The entire concrete complex resonates of blasting music and noise. It is as loud in the rooms as it is in the party rooms... Horrible place.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep, as far as possible from the Dome Hotel

Stayed at the Dome on Dec 4th 2012, and having read some of the reviews was dreading it. However, from check in (at 8.00am, now that's unusual) to check out I could only praise this hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful and most did speak some level of English as I don't have even one word of Turkish. The room was spotless, yes the door lock is a key - remember those things we used use in all hotels, but remember also that the crime rate in the area is very low. The bathroom though small was clean and there was plenty hot water, it did have a visit from one of the staff to get the water going but I hadn't even realised it wasn't working.
The sea view was stunning and it is really in the very centre if the town, the castle, plenty restaurants and loads of shopping all within easy walk.
Now to the breakfast - the range of food was amamzing, and it was hot, the chef cooking pncakes and grilled hellim lovely, along with the usual cold options would give something to even the most fussy eater.
I look forward to getting back there in 2013 ...... oh yea, I can't see why anyone would prefer looking at felt on the roof when the "astro turf" looks a lot better

Room Tip: Room 320 great sea view

Remember when everything was formica all bathrooms were avocado, carpets and curtains were multi patterned, bedspreads were candlewick and wardrobes were made of old tea chests covered in laminate? If you do and you liked it you will love the Dome. We heard it had been refurbished but that must have been around 1971 - that said it is clean and pretty friendly. Everything is rather spartan plain white (but clean and freshly painted) white walls in the bedroom not a single painting or other distraction on the walls, TV very old style and about 14 inch screen which made the modern widescreen transmissions even smaller, also on the old style wall brackets high up so that if you want to watch in bed you need a telescope! we had twin beds but be careful if you sit too near the end to put socks on as the other end flies up! bathroom equally spartan but decent toiletries and plenty of towels (very clean again). So why give it four stars you may ask --- location is the answer right on the sea (not beach note - there is none) too cold when we were there but the seaward side leads through a pleasant pool area to the sea, and gives easy access to the sea which is crystal clear and you will see fish and if lucky even a turtle! The front of the hotel is on the main road along the sea front, short walk into the shopping area and along to the Castle and Harbour. Penty of dining opportunites around. Breakfast in the hotel is a buffet with plenty of selection but very much of a local flavour - if you like salad, cheese, pastries and chillies for breakfast you will be happy --if you would like full English or a selection of cereals you may be not be so pleased - very dodgy looking sausages! No fruit juices one day some sort of lemon squash and the next some kind of orange and beware the milk not off or anything just UHT and unusual tasting. Tried the Anchor Restaurant at the bottom of the car park and right on the sea very good sea food and fresh fish selection excellent value as well, dinner for two with wine including a whole fresh sea bass for around 35 euros hard to beat - asindeed is the value for money of the hotel not the luxury of some of the hotels in the area like the Rocks or the Colony but maybe a third of the price !

Room Tip: Get a sea view room not only for the view but if you are on the road side the evening and possibly n...

We have just returned from spending two weeks at the Dome. It was one of the most relaxing holidays we have had. The position of the hotel is superb. So easy to walk into town or stroll to the wonderful harbour area. Our rooms were large if a little old shabby. One of our party is an invalid, The hotel facilities were accessible to her and the staff very thoughtful. Breakfast is very varied, Make sure you find the cook making omelets to order. The swimming pool is large and well maintained and surrounding area is excellent and very relaxing there is also very easy access to sea swimming. The staff were very welcoming and helpful they always seemed to have smiles on there faces!! Bar and food prices were very fare and compared well with the nearby bars and restaurants. We will certainly be returning.

Room Tip: Ask or a sea view
