On our first night we made a bee line for the Dostlar which does the best Turkish food cheaply. I am willing to bet that many people are put off the place by it's unpretentious appearance. Do not let this influence you one iota.
If you appreciate good home cooked food at a reasonable price then at least give it a try, particularly if you are staying at the next door Deniz Kizi Hotel or anywhere around Kyrenia for that matter. If you don't go you are doing yourself a massive disfavour. There's a plethora of restaurants grown up producing fancy food (much of it microwaved) at fancy prices. If you want that fine but give the Dostlar a try. You will not be disappointed.
Everything is fresh in this family run restaurant. Mum's chips are to die for as are daughter Hulya's salads. The pide puts any pizza anywhere to shame. The meat is succulent. We went there twice in a week and both meals were the best we had in that time and the cheapest. They've even ditched the plastic tablecloths for cloth ones, sheer opulence!
