“GREAT HOTEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

We had a GREAT time in this Hotel.
It was right on the beach with views of the sea from the room, restaurant.
Beach has elevator access, sea and sand were awesome. Food was always plenty and tasted out of this world.
We visited sites around the Hotel, explored and mixed with people. Everyone were friendly, helpful.

If you are looking for a Hotel situated right on the beach with views of the sea from Dining room ,indoor pool, sauna, and Turkish baths,......this is it! My husband and I enjoyed every single minute of our week there from 23rd March to 30th March 2013. The Chefs should be congratulated for the speed and efficiency of service to over a thousand guests and the food is first class.
There are wonderful places to visit nearby. i.e.St Barnabas Monastry. The ancient ruins and theatre of Salamis, and we also visited Kantara Castle, with breathtaking views going up and down the mountain.
My Best tip, be early to claim your bed and umbrella on the beach OR, around the outdoor... pool.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top 4th to 9th floors and request a sea view. well worth it!

We returned from Salamis Bay on Easter Saturday and were very impressed with the hotel. We had a room on the 9th floor with great views. The room was a good size and was kept immaculate the only down side was that the beds were rather hard, but that is a personal thing. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful, in fact when we arrived at 9.20p.m. the receptionist told us to check in after we had had something to eat as the restaurant would be closing shortly. The all inclusive package was very comprehensive and covered a wide range of drinks as well as the great food - not too good for the waistline though! The walk along the beach to the ruins at Salamis was very pleasant with a cafe at the end for a nice beer!
Would we return - you bet we would!

Room Tip: Try a get a room on the 9th floor for the view across the bay.

Our family stayed in salamis hotel for one week and found it as an acceptable selection for family holiday travel. Its not luxury at all, but rooms have been renovated recently so rooms were clean and nice. We reserved a triple room and it had a double and a single seperate bed (not extra bed), triple bedroom (or suites) are locating just in the corners of the hotel, so it could be located in the most near point to the sea or the most far point from it. Based on the location of the hotel if you stay in the north side rooms you will never meet the sun and if your room be located in the south side it will have sun light all the day. Food was good and I enjoyed from soups and main courses. The staff was also poliet and I had not a bad feeling in the restaurant. Local beverages were free and its quality was acceptable and if you like Roki you will find your self in paradise. The locker room and showers of the sauna and pool were not so clean and it was a negetive point for this hotel. Beach was nice and clean and we enjoyed from walking in it for an hour a day. It has not a big beach for swimming so it could be not very suitable in summer. Internet was free but its quality in the rooms was not as good as its quality in lobby. Tennis courts were not kept well and they need to a better maintenance. Hotel shuttle service to Famagusta was just available in two times a day and it was not enough as you must returned with the same bus that you have been went with it to the city.

Room Tip: corner suites in the east south side is the best

We have just returned from a superb holiday at this excellent hotel which is sited overlooking a wide, but sheltered bay - north of Famagusta, North Cyprus. We had 10 days there and were most impressed by the hotel - especially the wide variety and quality of food! (We were on "all inclusive" and, with buffet style provision, we were always tempted to try new dishes as well as familiar ones). And, complimentary bar drinks proved plentiful and tasty! The staff, too, were excellent - nothing too much trouble in all departments - and the standard of cleanliness inside the hotel and its terraces, was good! (An excellent indoor/heated pool, provided a good alternative to the picturesque outdoor pools - which were rather cool for the early season (surely an advantage in high season when temperatures are rather higher!). The only potentially serious concern we had was over inadequate changing facilities alongside the Inside pool and fitness room (privacy was poor and supervision almost non-existent. This could be a "powder keg" to good community relations with mixed cultures! ). The view from our bedroom/balcony was superb (from the 5th floor) and our only reservation was that the electrics had a tendency to "trip" (4 times in 10 days!). This was only a minor irritation as a technician quickly responded to our call each time.
Some might say that, apart from extensive walks along the beaches on either side of the Hotel, there are insufficient alternative cafe's/bars within easy walking distance (although in high season it did look as if more would be open). However, for history "buffs" there is a
huge Roman site within walking distance - which has many interesting building/ruins (including theatre, amphitheatre, baths, and latrines).
Evening entertainment was sporadic - but very good when it happened! (In high season there is a night club which looked as if it would be well insulated and self-contained). The hotel also has its own mini-market, games facilities, and discreet casino. What more could you want?
Would we return? Yes, definitely!

Room Tip: 5th floor and higher for great views; South-east facing for sun on the balcony!

We found the hotel facilities first class. The hotel is very comfortable, clean and well positioned on the beach at Salamis Bay. The staff are very attentive, helpful, efficient and good humoured. Our local Mercury Direct Travel rep. (Umit) could not be more helpful. The All Inclusive package was comprehensive and very good value. The restaurant was open for most of the day and the menues International, and varied. This Hotel is very popular and sometimes crowded especially for dinner and weekends, but by being selective we were able to deal with this and it is more a reflection of its popularty than a distraction. Despite being busy the restaurant is kept clean and tables cleared and prepared promptly. The location is quiet and a car is recommended for at least a few days. The excursions arranged are good value and there is a regular and inexpensive shuttle bus into Famagusta from the Hotel. The rooms are kept spotless and are generous in size. The spa, sauna, gym, steam bath and swimming pools are very good and kept clean. The Hotel caters for all age groups and we enjoyed our two weeks very much.

Room Tip: Rooms on the South side are quieter.
