We had been in the area 13 years ago when this museum was under restoration and were very disappointed that we had to miss it. So when we had the chance to go back June, 2013, we were thrilled that it was open. It covers over 6,000 years of history including iron and bronze age, stone age, excellent pottery and metal and fossil displays; natural history is also given a whole floor, set up in several natural settings. There were some critters there I'd never heard of before! The museum is set up for all manner of visitors with elevators and ramps for ease of movement. Please support this excellent and well-informed museum. They offered dozens of explanations in English for most of the diorammas so we never felt frustrated with the language. And the folks running it were so very gracious!
