I was born in Luxembourg and therefore somewhat partial to the Country. I go for visits many times and take friends and relatives to see what beutiful places there are to see.
Luxembourg is located in the Center of Europe and many Countries are easy access by rail, bus or car.
May people have never heard of it and do not plan vacations to this beautiful place.
It is lot’s of history many of the cobblestone roads from the Roman Era are still visible
It also has Castles that are restored so visitors can get a glimpse of times past. Vianden
is such a place and for a tiny country it has more Castles then any other in Europe.
Luxembourg City is built on a Fortress and you can see the Valley of Petrus where people
love to stroll in the summer. The Duke’s Palace is located in the City as well and you can
experience the market on Wednesday right across from it where the seat of the
Government is with it’s Lions guarding the stairs as you enter. The streets of the
City are closed of to vehicles so that you can enjoy a stroll through the many shops
and Café’s at leisure.
The Casamottes are also open during the summer and are an underground tunnel under
the City which was used during the early history of the country to ward of the enemy
with canons a guide is available for the tour.
Around the City you see the Rampar which overlooks the other side of the valley below.
You may also visit the grave of General Patton at the American cemetery located across
from the City this in itself is a great experience the German cemetery is located a few
minutes up the road. As small as the Country is it will take a week to see the splendor of it
Remich is known for the vineyards. Ettelbrueck is where Patton crossed into Luxembourg to
free the Country from the Germans and also has a museum honoring that time.
Muellertal is referred to by many Luxembourgers as the little Swiss it is a place you must visit.
I hope this will give you a longing to visit this beautiful place
