“Conceptual Art Nightmare”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

Huge and beautiful building almost empty. It is surrounded by an eerie setting of modern buildings made by concrete, steel and glass. Inside the museum you will find: rocks, blank canvases, photos of grass fields, electric bulbs and batteries in the floor. It seems like a complete waste of space. There were very few interesting works of art. The videos were senseless and not aesthetically appealing. Conceptual art, refuses to die, its shock value passed long time ago. Although entrance fee was low compared to other museums I have visited recently, I felt that it was a complete waste of time. Maybe it will be a good idea after your tenth visit to Luxembourg.

“Enjoy the place on Wednesdays after work”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

MUDAM is an amazing place if you like modern architecture and to have a drink in an arty place after work (Wednesdays). I have been there many times hoping that the new exhibition would finally convince me. It had never happened. So let's say... don't go there if you want to have the cultural revelation of your life!

“Show over substance”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

what little there is to see gives pretentious a bad name. Nice building but needs some art, any kind of art, definintely better modern art.

“Absolutely stunning building beautiful museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

Absolutely beautiful museum, incredible archticture and integration into the scenery, spacious and peaceful rooms and volumes. Entrance fee is ridiculously low, 5 eur ! Pay a visit to the gothic chapel of Belgian artist Wim Devoye on the first floor, astonishing... On every Wednesday night it s DJ aperitive at the MuDam Café, free entrance between 18 and 21.00 very relaxing and loungy atmosphere, all of a sudden this quiet and zen space fills up with white collars crowd from the offices around socializing after their work day!

“Beautiful building, some good pieces”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

One of the few very interesting things to see/do in Luxembourg. The building is staggering - especially inside - it is woven between old ruins and sits next to some other large, impressive, glass buildings.

The pieces inside are (as usual with Modern Art galleries) a mixture of wonderful original pieces on the one hand, and complete and utter tripe on the other.

The staff (particularly the ladies on reception and in the shop) are really nice and friendly. They went out of their way to work out the best way for us to get to the Luxembourg American Cemetery from there - they also ordered a can for us to the cemetery.

If you're interested in modern art or modern architecture, this is a 'must visit'.
