“Low cost, convenient located hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

This is a good choice if you want to spend little, have low expectations and want to be next to the train station (which is really convenient)!

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The amenities are really basic, mattress was old and there was a clear need for renovation visible. The neighborhood is not the best in the city but still safe and clean for western european standards. One of the great pros is the Italian restaurant which serves great food and is really popular with both the locals and tourists,

Room Tip: Its better to select rooms on the upper floors to avoid street noise

Not a difficult place to find. It's more like a bed and breakfast place. Below the hotel is a Pizza/Italian Restaurant. I have not tried it so I can't comment if they are any good. I think its a family owned business managed by an old couple who manage the reception as well. The place was clean, though, it was old and had a stinky/damp smell. Room size was okay and bed was comfortable. They don't have any air-condition so you have to open the windows for some air. Bathroom was clean with towels, free bath soap and shampoo. The doors are old-style like folded and was difficult to close.

Unfortunately, we were booked on the first floor which was on top of the restaurant's kitchen, so while trying to get a nap in the afternoon when we arrived, we heard all clanging of kitchen utensils and plates. The neighbors were noisy at some point in time. Since the window was open, we could hear all the noises from the bedroom. The floors on our level were wooden covered by carpet, so you can hear all footsteps. If you stay out late, the main door is locked so you have to ring the bell and most likely the owner will come out to open the door for you.

Breakfast was juice, coffee or chocolate with croissant and bread roll ( 2 pieces of each bread and thats it ! ), some jellies, butter, cheese, nutella and marmalade. The waiters were warm and friendly.

The only advantage is its close to the center and its a walking distance to cafe's, restaurant and tourist spot.

Room Tip: If you don't have a heavy luggage, choose a room from 2nd floor and up. I think the noise is les...

Didn't stay in the Hotel but visited the Restraunt as I was travelling alone in Lux. Nice bright room, friendly staff. Had lasagne chips, and water which was lovely. Cost €29.40 so a little expensive. Nice food, close to city centre. I would come back.

What can I say positive about it? It is an easy 10 minute from the railway station and say 15 minutes from the city centre and that's about it. The furniture looked like it had been bought at a car boot sale. The breakfast was poor and as for woollen sheets on the bed! And when I did manage to get to sleep I was soon awoken by a plan taking off! It did not represent VFM and was 'good for just the one' (night).

Room Tip: Try a differnt hotel!

This hotel needs maintenance for sure. The rooms toward the street are VERY noisy, the breakfast is skinny at least, but the staff is friendly. The room we had was smallish but do-able...again noisy. We did have any meals other than breakfast. Serval small restaurants close by. The hotel is close to shopping and some sightseeing. Is is NOT for us and we backpack so we are use to nothing.

“If you touch me, I’ll scream!” No, this did not come from the hotel maid but from our bathroom door, a semi-transparent, flimsily folding accordion-type thing that shrieked back and forth on its poorly fitted top rail. Even then it would not close completely until you got the magnet on the top close enough to its base, then it caught with a loud “SNAP!” I got up once at 4 a.m. and woke up everybody in the hotel.

It has a good location, very close to train station, and is quiet. (except for the bathroom doors.)

Breakfast was rolls, butter, jelly, cheese.
