Excellent hotel, located at one of the most uninspiring places of Luxembourg City. However, not too far from the city centre (approx. 3 kms) and probably because of the location, an excellent price as well. The large and extremely comfortable beds are especially made for the Sofitel hotels and they are a treat. Together with the spacious rooms, a choice of beverages, courtesy of the hotel, this hotel is one of my favourites and I have stayed there on more than one occasion. If you would like to use breakfast there, I would recommend the room service option, at no extra cost compared to the buffet breakfast. Just fill out the form and the at the hour and minute of your choice, a Horn of Plenty is wheeled into your room, great! Parking is free in front of the hotel.

A friend and I were in town to watch our daughters play basketball at the international school. We picked this hotel by price and the fact that there was a parking lot.
The room was quite large, with 2 very large single beds. The front desk was quite helpful in directing us to the bus stop for a trip into the city. The map he gave us was good enough for us to find our way back, as we decided to walk off our delicious dinner.
I would stay here again in an instant.

The layout of the Sofitel somewhat reminded me of an American Embassy Suites. The room was large and had a very comfortable bed and bathtub. Also, soda and bottled water were free. Our room smelled a little strange. The hotel's lounge had comfortable sofas for relaxing with a drink. Staff was friendly and spoke English, and was patient with my attempts to speak French, but they were a little reserved. My only real complaints were that it kind-of lacked personality, and the hotel is not in the touristy area, but in the financial district. I was able to walk to/from downtown no problem, but you'll need a taxi if you have luggage.

My wife and I spent one night in the Sofitel in November 2004. We found it to be very comfortable with great service and a nice breakfast as well. It is quite a distance from the city center but we walked it within 20 minutes. We took a city bus on the return trip which dropped us off just down the hill from the hotel. One of the benefits of walking is the beautiful view across one of the many bridges in Luxembourg.
