Stopped for one night at the hotel Melia Luxembourg on my way to northern Germany.
The hotel does not have a parking lot but there is a nice underground parking lot nearby. Make sure to park near the entrance of the parking lot and to exit by foot the way you drove in. Don't follow the signs inside the parking lot that tell you to go to the back to get to the hotel as you will have to carry your luggage up a narrow staircase and over a connecting bridge to the hotel and then have to go back down to the ground floor.
Check-in was prompt and friendly, and it seems that the reception staff speaks at least a dozen languages (I overheard them speaking to clients in French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch, but that last one could have been Luxemburgish).
The rooms on the 8th floor are large, with a huge bed, a standard coffee maker and a Nespresso coffe maker. The bathroom is large and the bath towels are huge (I could wrap them around my waist 2 times). Lots of amenities in the bathroom. The internet was free (and one could connect 2 devices, laptop and smartphone) but was quite slow.
Dinner at the retaurant Aqua (there is another one, but it was closed) was excellent. Nice slightly ecclectic choices (I had the tuna tartare and the pasta in squid ink with squid pieces). Prompt and friendly service.

The tour group incident is why I am not giving the Melia a 5*, as hotels need to choose between catering to full-fare paying guests, or just filling rooms with tour groups at cut-rate prices. But, to be fair, even the full fare at 122 Euros is very cheap for a luxurious hotel nearby downtown in Europe.
Spend a little bit more to get a room on the top floor. Rooms facing the old town can be noisy due t...

Thank you kindly for your nice review about our hotel, its service and rooms on tripadvisor.com.
Especially your compliments on our staff makes us very proud.
Regarding the parking we may inform you, that during the weekends you may park the car along side the Avenue JFK for free. As you already described, you may follow the way through the tunnel beside the hotel despite the sign of non trespassing.
Your comment about the internet is appreciated as you pointed out the free of charge usage and the possibility to connect more than one device. We may tell you, that we are working currently with our internet provider on better connection lines in order to offer you a faster internet connection.
As it comes to your only downside of your stay, the breakfast among groups, we would like to ask for your understanding that we are appreciating all our guests and group travellers do often have a more stiff time planing than leisure guests regarding their times of breakfast. For that, they are having early their breakfast and they appreciate sitting all together by one group.
We are looking forward to your next visit in Luxembourg and we hope, you will chose the Melia Hotel Luxembourg again as your accommodation as we are delighted to welcome you with us.
