We were lucky enough to be the first guests in this apartment following a complete renovation, so everything was brand spanking new. The owner, Joseph (great guy!) came to collect us from the airport, which was a thoughtful touch and helped get everything off to a great start for us.
There’s a lot that’s really fab about this apartment, but the big wow factor has to be the view of the harbour. It’s breath-taking. Certainly amongst the best you can get in Valletta. Joseph has had the entire terrace-facing wall – the width of the apartment, basically – removed and replaced with a folding glass curtain, floor to ceiling. You therefore get a spectacular view of the harbour at all times, and with the wall folded back the living room runs seamlessly on to the sizeable terrace. It was made for dining al fresco, sunbathing and socialising, and does that perfectly. And as if that wasn’t enough, there's even a second, larger terrace on the roof!
If you can tear yourself away from the view, you'll find everything you need in the apartment; all mod cons and very stylishly done. Joseph has decorated the apartment with trinkets and mementos of his own, which lend a real individual charm to the place. Location-wise, it's in a great spot too. Valletta isn't a big city in any case, but this apartment has everything within very easy reach of the front door including shops, restaurants, transport, attractions and so forth.
Joseph is a great host as well. He left us completely to our own devices, but with the clear instruction that we should call him if we wanted the slightest thing. When we did – we wanted to work out how to book and get to a particular very popular restaurant – he phoned around on our behalf to find out what we needed to know, and basically pulled out all the stops to help us. We were very grateful and it made our stay all the more enjoyable and hassle-free.
Some general observations:
Since we were the first to stay in the apartment there were a couple of finishing touches still missing, such as some electrical socket fittings and, more importantly, balustrades on the terraces. To be fair though Joseph did make it clear to us beforehand what to expect, and was clearly actively engaged in completing these last few jobs.
Note that the apartment is on the third floor and there's no lift. For able-bodied guests though this should be no problem at all.
As well as the glass wall to the lower terrace, the ceiling over the dining area is made of glass panelling (it forms part of the upper terrace), meaning this is an incredibly light, bright apartment. It gets a lot of sunlight! It does have air conditioning, though. (We never needed to switch this on, having stayed there in March, and so can’t report on how well it performs.)
We used public transport on our holiday, and managed to get around Malta perfectly well that way. The main bus station is less than ten minutes’ walk from the apartment. On-street car parking in Valletta does look like it could be a bit problematic, so if you’re planning to hire a car you’d probably be wise to research parking beforehand.
All in all Joseph has done a fabulous job with this apartment. It was a delight to meet him, and a joy to stay there, and we will without hesitation check its availability before we do anything else prior to our next trip to Malta.

Thank you for your genuine review. I am very pleased you enjoyed that much the flat and the area. I do agree with you, the view here is absolutely unique. Concerning the little things by the time were still to fix, after the trial stage, every thing is ok. Thank you again for your custom, I will always remember you as my FIRST GUEST.
