A very homely boutique guest house, run by an elderly lady who makes you feel at home. Very clean and very comfortable and welcoming. I imagine it could be very cool in the summer, but rather cold in the winter, however heaters are on offer at an extra charge

Room Tip: wifi is available in communal areas

A lovely town house, extremely well located. Everything in Valletta is at most a few hundred metres away.

Comfortable room, comfortable bed, and hot shared showers. There were three rooms on my floor sharing two showers, but the other rooms were empty so I had the floor to myself.

Very reasonable prices (I paid €30 a night) including breakfast. Breakfast is simple but good: cereal, juice, fruit, cake, toast with butter, marmalade and jam.

My only criticism is that the whole place is slightly damp. The owners would do well to get some dehumidifiers in every room.

That said, I would recommend it strongly.

Location - perfect. Room - clean, spacious, delightful. Building - historic. Wi-Fi - free. Price - negligible. Service - exceptional. The lady in charge had set out breakfast for me and was disappointed when I shot out in search of a croissant. Oh, she said, I would have got that for you if you'd asked. How guilty did I feel....

I stayed just one night but can unhesitatingly recommend this guest house. My kind of place.

Room Tip: Room 3 is just opposite the shower, just a step away - virtually en suite

When booking the guesthouse it was unclear if the room was €30 per person or per room (It's €30 per person per night). Annie also offered us a taxi from the airport, as we didn't know how the transport worked on Malta we accepted for €20. It turned out that it is only a 10 minute drive from the airport so the price seemed a bit steep, adding to this annoyance the taxi wasn't waiting for us, after a number of phone calls and a 30 minute wait at the airport he turned up. There were taxis at the airport that we could have taken had we not already 'booked' the taxi through the guesthouse. I would recommend catching a bus however as they are very regular, especially to Valletta and cost €1 for a 2 hour ticket or €1.50 for an all day ticket.

Upon arrival the room was nice and clean, though an en-suite would have been good. There was a strange lack of plug sockets in the room. There was one above the bed so you could chose which bedside lamp to plug in. For charging a phone you either have to do without a bedside lamp or plug in across the room instead of the kettle.

The breakfast was minimal with a choice of 2 not very good cereals, the fruit was apples and bannanas only. There was also toast and jam. For drinks there was tropical juice and tea or coffee, both of which were in teapots so if you get there a bit later they will probably be cold.

A redeeming feature of the guest house was its location, very close to anywhere you might want to go in Valletta.

Overall the guesthouse wasn't terrible but lots of little problems and niggles add up and it seemed really not up to the €60 a night standard.

The Guest House itself is a lovely building in a very nice location. The rooms are basic, but clean and has a wash basin was present. A lot of stairs to climb, so don't bring a heavy bag. The room was very hot in August, a fan is provided, but if you are not good with high temperatures, this might be a problem for you. You can make tea or coffee in the room, and a bottle of drinking water was provided. The wifi didn't work in my room but this could be a temporary problem. I found the mattress uncomfortable but this is different for eveyone of course.

You share the (very clean) bathroom with other guest on the same floor. There is room for improvement though: it is not possible to lock the toilet or showers or the bathroom door itself from the inside while you are in there. Since there are no hooks where you can hang a towel or some clothing, you have to get dressed outside of the shower, and this means another guest can walk in when you are undressed, so if you are shy about your body or bodily functions, this would probably not work for you.

Breakfast is basic but ok (cereal, toast, jam, some fruit, coffee / tea), the lady that runs the guest house is lovely.

Pros: location, cleanliness, hospitality, affordable.
Cons: temperature, thin walls (noise), no privacy possible while you are in the bathroom, short time frame for breakfast.

Overall: I had a good stay and would stay there again.

This is a "guest house" in the central part of Valletta Malta. The Unesco Ancient Heritage listed city is best explored from the doorstep of Asti Guest house. Close to everything including the buses that take you all over the island. Modestly priced rooms that are clean and tidy. A very welcoming and delightful owner who has true Maltese hospitality defined in the service provided.
Service with a smile and the price is right for travellers who want a place to stay while exploring the islands. I recommend Asti Guest house to anyone who wants an authentic experience. I was visiting Malta during this summer and found the guest house perfect for my needs at a reasonable price. Marie M . Australia

My family enjoyed 5 days in the Asti in May. Annie was a kind and friendly host, very understanding towards our disabled son. Lovely building. Great value for money at 30 euros per person per day. Perfect position too for all the sights of Valetta, in a quieter area a couple of mins from the centre and also a few mins from the bus station from where you can get anywhere on the Island. Expect to share a bathroom (with Mediterranean plumbing), though for us we had both rooms on the first floor so not a problem. Overall excellent value.
