“Blessed Beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

If in Valletta, don't miss this beautiful church and museum. I was slightly taken back by the fact that you must buy a ticket to visit the church, but once inside, I totally forgot. I wish we were there during a service, but enjoyed walking around such beauty. A must see if you are in Valletta, Malta.

“Maltese History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

Beautiful, a must see! It's so hard to believe that an island this small can be so rich in history, as can be seen here and many other local locations

“Awe Inspiring”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

Situated in the centre of Valletta this magnificent cathedral is well worth a visit.
My partner is a Catholic and I am a Methodist, but we both attended High Mass on the Sunday. It was a beautiful service with all the Maltese Knights in attendance wearing their regalia.
The sheer beauty of the building was breathtaking and the paintings in the oratory were beyond description.
Will most certainly visit again.

“Awe inspiring.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

The Cathedral from the outside is less than inspiring when considered against the European cathedrals like Chatres or St. Pauls but inside it is breath taking pure opulance. I have visited many cahtedrals around the world but nothing compares to the love and magnificance of its embellishments in gold and marble telling the life of the Masters of the Order of St.John and their Knights and pages from the bible. Where ever you look it is stunning from the marble floor heraldic gravestones to the marvelous painted barrel ceiling. It boasts two famous Carragio paintings, superb as they may be, the Cathedral ceiling for me makes them feel insignificant. You must get the audio tour and really take your time to fully take everything in and study the magnificance. An hour hardly does it justice. If all you see in Valetta is the Cathedral the trip to the Island has been more than worth while. To fully put the Cathedral into time and understand the Knights and the great Siege you must finish the visit off by going to watch the Malta Experience.

“Glitzy!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

An odd title for a review you might think. The Cathedral appears fairly ordinary from the outside but is opulent inside and definitely worth a visit.
