I observed some people were disappointed with this Museum, what made me think about their arguments and compare them to my personal approach to museums.
My intention in this review is to contribute to the discussion. It is not to create polemic nor criticize other views.
I usually visit a museum in search of what it expresses of the place I'm visiting, its history, its artists, and things that I could not see in other places.
From this perspective, I enjoyed it very much, because it allowed me to confirm many aspects of Malta's rich and diversified history, expressed by paintings of international artists who lived there, not to mention the opportunity of seeing paintings and sculptures by local artists.
Considering the impressive influence of the Catholic Church in the history of Malta, the collection could not avoid expressing this aspect, and that is made by means of many paintings, in special in their collection of Mattia Preti's works, and also through many portraits of people who had a proeminent role in Malta's history.
The museum has also some nice sculptures by local artists, old furniture and very beautiful pieces in silver.
So, to those who share a similar view I recommend a visit to this museum, I believe they will have a nice and rich experience.
