Check in was excellent and we both enjoyed a refreshing glass of Kinnie whilst we completed the paperwork. The staff were all excellent and very efficient.

We chose a Superior room and were allocated one on floor 5. We had asked for a room with a view over to Valetta and were duly allocated one. We had everything we could need and a small balcony which was nice to sit out on each evening. My husband likes photography and got some amazing photos of the fireworks over Valetta for Victory Day. We had a problem with towels during our stay being left one that had a large brown stain in the middle of it. I duly took this downstairs and asked for a new one which Housekeeping brought about 10 minutes later. As an apology the Manager kindly said he would send up a bottle of wine which we thought was a lovely touch. 24 hours later we hadn't seen the wine so mentioned it to reception. They promptly arranged for it to be sent and once again apologised. There must have been some confusion regarding the towels and checking they had been changed as on getting back up to our room and whilst in the middle of changing Housekeeping did not knock but simply walked in to bring more towels (which we didn't need and nor was I happy to be seen completely naked!).

Breakfast was amazing and probably the best I have ever eaten with everything on offer. Location was great too - would recommend walking down the street near Tower Supermarket to get on the bus near Mint restaurant if you want to head to Valetta as you then get on before everyone who gets on at Sliema Ferries! The rooftop pool was amazing and we had no problems getting seating/loungers each afternoon. Great to have access to free wifi.

We will certainly return and recommend to friends and family.

Room tip: Stayed in room 554 which was very nice

This was our third time to stay at the Palace and it lived up to our expectations yet again. It really is a fantastic hotel. This time we would experience the rooftop pool properly as last trip was in April and it was too cold. Fantastic lay out and great service. It was never really packed, plenty of chairs and loungers, then again it was usually evening by the time went up there. Ate in Tempt Asian one night, fantastic food and service. There was a blond lady waitress or manager there that was so friendly and nice, she also worked in the breakfast room as well. Incredibly nice lady. Also the lobby staff, Andrew and Thomas were very helpful yet again.
Would definitely recommend to everyone looking for a really nice hotel with fantastic service. We also used their car service Prestige Car Service quite a few times and cannot recommend them highly enough, am only sorry we didnt use them in April We took a full day trip with a driver (Hi Al) to Gozo and a half day tour on main island (Hi Steve) in which we saw more of then island then we did in the entire week we were there in April. Highlight of our week actually.
Only negative thing I would say is that the breakfast is quite expensive at €18 each, if it is included with your room offer, it is great and I know they do offer specials 3 for 2 but it is really cheap to get a great breakfast at any of the cafes or restaurants on the water front for half that price. It is a great choice of breakfast and the convenience of having it right there will probably suit many. Overall a fantastic hotel with fantastic staff.

Room tip: All rooms are big. Probably opposite side to the Church with bells that ring a lot. We were in 741 this time and didnt hear them at all.

I have nothing negative to say about our stay.

Both pools were amazing. Breakfast was superb with amazing attention from the staff.

Excellent location for exploring - a short walk down to the front...

My wife and I had a very nice stay at this Hotel from 10 to 24 August 2014. The location is central and is within walking distance of St Julian's Bay in the Summer evenings. The bus stop to Valletta is just down the street on the promanade. A weekly bus ticket can be purchased from the driver for 6.50 euros. This allows unlimited travel any time up until about 10pm, after which, normal fares apply. The buses get absolutely packed in summer though.
As our stay in Malta was for a fortnight, we found that our clothing required washing. I considered that the Hotel Laundry service was prohibitively expensive, so we took a bag of Laundry to "One stop Wash" at Spinola Bay. As you travel from the Sliema direction, turn right at Dick's Bar near the top of the hill, and it is situated on Triq Spinola.

As a bit of a fitness fanatic, I used the gym every morning before breakfast, because I found that if I used it before dinner, the temprature was very high due poor air conditioning. They could also do with two eliptical trainers instead of just one. My wife and I always found the indoor pool very nice and relaxing. The outdoor roof pool is very nice, but that area is invariably jam packed during the summer months, due to the occupants of the Victoria Hotel having use of the facility as well. Towels are provided at the gym and pools, free of charge.

The rooms are very nice and spacious, with complimentary WiFi and tea and coffee making requisites that were replenished every day. The maid service was good, the rooms cleaned, and towels replaced every day, along with the small bottles of complimentary shower gel and shampoo. We went half board and found the food was very nice, so a hearty breakfast and and a big dinner meant that a light snack was all that was needed during the day. If you happen to be in the vicinity of the Hotel during the day, a sandwich or wrap can be obtained from Scotts Supermarket just round the corner. I bought a pack of eight big bottles of water from there that lasted us a fortnight for about 2.90 euros. As non drinkers we did not have a bottle of wine with our evening meal, just a pot of tea for two, which was included in the price of the evening meal.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, and there was always a free cool drink of fruit infused water or ice tea in the foyer, which was always very welcome when coming in out of the heat of the day. If your return flight is late in the day, the cases can be put in the storeroom and shower facilities are available after your room has been handed back.
