Beautiful hotel, well priced, top class facilities . We are a young couple of 21 and 23. We wanted a relaxing break and chose this location in Sliema, Malta. We travelled from the 27th Aug - 7th Sept 2013. It is a relaxed hotel, with help staff and is in a good setting - only a 5 minute walk from the sliema sea front. The hotel is quite quiet, especially at night (if you are looking for in hotel entertain there isn't much) but we did not want that. We were only B&B (Breakfast was great, lots of choice) and enjoyed going out in the evenings, walking through sliema and up to St Juilians Bay - there are restaurants the whole way up this walk on the front and we felt everything was very well priced. Most of our meals for two cost between 30-40 euro and that was including either wine or start/desserts. All the food we had was of a good standard, lots of lovelt italian influenced restaurants. Back to the hotel, if you enjoy relaxing by the pool on some days of your holiday the Victoria will not disappoint! The roof terrace as two pools, one on the 8th and one on the 9th floor, these are beautiful. you can swim and relax looking over the surrounding view of Sliema. This really made our holiday! There is also a small gym, which is fine for a little bit of exercise to work off some of the holiday food and drink, but it is by no means brilliant. Just a couple of treadmills and some free weights (but you don't want to spend too much time in the gym on holiday anyway) There is very little faults I can say about this holiday and the holiday in general. Was very enjoyable and relaxing! Some other notes you may want to consider - Malta is very small, you can get a bus ticket for 12 euro which you just buy on the bus and it allows you to use any bus on the island for 7days, this was very handy. You can travel to mellieha bay (about 50/60mins) for a day at the beach as Sliema doesnt have a sandy beach. Also we don't really buy in to travel tours but we did a great tour of gozo with ezee (not 100% sure if thats the correct name) which took us on speed boat to gozo did a short tour of about 2 hours in gozo and then time to get lunch followed by a trip to the blue lagoon...(which was soooo busy in august, which is a pity because it is a very beautiful swimming spot) and then speed boat back to Sliema. All for 30 euro which we felt was a good price for the trip. Last point - sliema is a quiet enough area, St juilians is more lively for a night out (there is also Paceville which is full of younger people, we had one drink there but didn't stay for the whole night out, lots of clubs and bars) But for a few drinks and lovely cocktails try TEX MEX in sliema or the restaurant bar nextdoor to it MedAsia... Hope I have been of help to any of you considering Sliema and the Victoria! I would really recommend it :)
