In the 'silent city'Mdina you find a beautiful cathedral, that we visited without having to go through the museum, or having to buy a ticket. Maybe it was because we were there 'off season', this january 2014.
It's a very beautiful church, lots of ornaments and decorations. Also many chandeliers, not the crystal cut type, but glass ones from Murano, Italy, with coloured glass details.
The gravestones are flat and inlaid with various coloured stones, like 'Pietra Dura'.
Well worth a visit.
The style in which the cathedral is built is found all over Malta, the last church being built in this style is about 50 years old!
