“Great new addition to Malta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

Ate here yesterday. It a breath of fresh air to Malta. They are doing something new and doing it well! Arabian,Indian great food with real chef who no how to cook it! The service is very good wine served well. The concept of the way they are selling wine is great other restaurants should take note as we clients can enjoyed very good wine a decent prices. We will definitely be back as its a great escape.

“Very good food, with very busy ambient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We went yesterday evening for dinner as a surprise for my birthday. The food was very good and rich with interesting flavours.

One thing that we disliked was the large amount of people everywhere. We booked well in advance, but we were given a table for two beside a large table for 30 or so. The waiter found it difficult to pass between the narrow passage created. We were just expecting a better table.

The food was excellent, and good value for money.

“Forgot to serve one of our meals”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

Meal for four of us this evening. Three of us chose from the Indian menu whilst my wife chose from the Arabian menu. The three of us were served and we chatted away waiting patiently for my wife's food to arrive while our food started to go cold with the delay. Her main course did not arrive until we had to remind them. They had forgotten. No apology and no compensation and at the end of the meal, which therefore took longer than normal, they were hurrying us out for the next people who had booked. Our first time at this restaurant and will not be rushing back.

“Great restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

I visited Sharma with friends for one of its theme nights, in this case featuring Malta's two resident belly dancers. For a Monday night in February this very large restaurant was full - quite an achievement. The atmosphere was great - a historic building within the waller city of Mdina. There were both large (20 people plus) and small groups on the night of my visit, and this restaurant would be ideal for birthday ceelbrations and the like. Once we were seated and asked for the wine list we were told that diners may bring their own wine for a corkage fee of 4.90 Euros, and that the wines on the wine list were at shop prices plus the corkage fee. This keeps the wine prices at a reasonable level and is an excellent system, especially for parties. One problem was that some of the white wines were served unchilled, however. The menu is huge - a bit too long for my indecisive mind - with Arabic, Indian and Mediterranean options. I chose Moroccan - Harira (a chickpea and lamb soup) and a lamb tagine, both very tasty and served in traditional serving bowls. My friends had mixed starters to share, which were generous and very tasty. By the end of the meal I had no space for a dessert. The only slight problem was the service. Because the restaurant was so full, and can accommodate a large number of diners, the small open-plan kitchen at the front of the restaurtant was overwhelmed. Both the starters and the mains took around 10 minutes to serve, which meant that some people had to start before others were served before their meals got cold. However, over all a really good night, and I definately look forward to returning - with my own wine this time!

“a gem of a find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

we stumbled across this little gem in Mdina, it offeres wonderful food and great service. We arrived shortly before close of lunchtime business and was still made to feel welcome. The Arabic menu was a delight to behold but with Indian food also available for the less adventerous, and a great atmosphere. Cost about 10 euros a head for food, excluding drinks and tips
