You could give Marsaxlokk a complete miss, and not have short changed yourself. But to have missed Tartarun, now that would be a tragedy, indeed.
Don't even think of sitting outside. The restaurant room is most pleasant and comfortable, with a good atmosphere.
The staff are friendly, helpful and not at all intrusive.
The food is very special, and worth the treck.
We had starters of a musroom pasta and a calamarie. The pasta was exquisite but huge, and the calamarie, the best I have ever eaten.
The bread was excellent and with a choice of butters too!
Our mains were sea bass at €18, excellent in flavour, and exceptional value.
I had the prawns and (a) langoustine - some more of each would have been appreciated, but no complaints here as the flavours prompted the desire for more.
The sorbets should be experienced too.
We had an exceptional (Italian) Sauvignon Blanc at €20.50 - the best we have had on the island.
We spent €95 on our special lunch. We could have decided on someting less expensive and still enjoyed the experience, but we made the right choices on the day.
