First things first - our bill for two people, three courses (shared the pudding) plus a good bottle of wine and a bottle of water, came to 86 euros. This was the dearest meal we had in our Gozo week, but I don't reckon that's too dear. The owner is very friendly, and - yes - he does rather tell you what you should choose, but that's because he knows what is fresh that day and what wines go best with each dish. If you don't agree with his choices, surely you should be able to tell him so.
We had an excellent selection of antipasta to start with. When I complimented the owner on his home made cheese with herbs he insisted on bringing me another complete cheese 'on the house'. Then we had fish with Sicilian capers, roast potatoes and crunchy vegetables, and finished with homemade ricotta ice cream - which was yummy.
The only disappointment was the run of the mill sliced bread. Maltese bread is usually excellent - this wasn't. But on the whole, an excellent meal and a restaurant to be recommended.
