It is always interesting to visit churces visiting foreign places. Beyond being nice to wathc, churces provide you with the impression of a community - it's people, it's history and it's "wealth". The St. Georges Basillica is no exception. It is a beatiful church to watch from both inside and outside (as a part of the citadelle) and with a lot of smaller and larger stories to be told. We also experienced parts of a service, though only 4-5 locals were gathered in the large church. In the neighboorhood hall we heard a choire practicing for the local festival - giving us as sence that the church was used for more than touristing.
Even though catholic, shorts and bare shoulders were not rejected.
