This church is well worth stopping off at on the way from the ferry terminal to Victoria. It was built between 1951-71 from local donations. The dome is huge and competes for size with the one in Mosta. You are welcomed by a member of the clergy who explains its history in up to 4 languages. There is a small museum and for a donation of €2 you can go up to the bell tower in the lift and enjoy the view of the town surrounding countryside from the roof (if you have a head for heights). The optional climb to the belfry up a spiral staircase is not for the unfit or faint-hearted!
