“So many things in one place...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

This is one of the most wonderful landscapes in Malta. The yellow limestone and the blue sea are a great setting for half a day or even a day of leisure. Things to see include the famous Azure Window rock arch, the Inland Sea, the little chapel on the hillside. Historical monuments are the medieval watchtower above the bay and the Bronze Age "Cart ruts". For divers there is the well-known Blue Hole, underwater caves. Those who love boat rides, can sit in one of the boats on the Inland Sea, and cross the caves to come to the open sea, and get closer to the Azure Window that way. Be aware that Dwejra is a protected area!

“DWEJRA - THE INLAND SEA COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2009

We visited Dwejra many times on our trip to Gozo. We kept going back because we always felt safe swimming there. Its very clean and it's like swimming in a big swimming pool. Its just beautiful. It wasn't very busy the only time that you thought it might start getting busy was when a tourist bus turned up, but they would only be there to take the boat ride and return to their buses. We used to park right up to the water taking the car down the ramp. The boat ride was enjoyable with the boatman speaking a combination of Maltese, English and Italian so we all could understand. The only tricky part about swimming at Dwejra is coming out of the water. The boat ramps are quite mossy and slippery. Its handy to have someone to help you out of the water. The second option would be to come out of the water via the pebbles but once again good for someone to hand you some flip flops because the pebbles are hard on your feet.
