“B&B Accomodation to rival any top class hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2009

My wife and I stayed here because it is within walking distance of the Wetland Centre. We also found that it was situated on the Gloucester /Sharpness canal which was ideal for walks. The room was furnished to a very high standard with a large flat screen TV. The matress on the bed was of a memory foam type and extremely comfortable. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate were provided in the room together with a good supply of biscuits.
On a number of occasions during our stay we ate in the restaurant and found the selection on the menu to be very comprehensive and could cater for all tastes and the food was excellent. Most days I had the Tudor breakfast which was a wonderful full English that included Bacon, Sausage, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns and beans - more than enough to see me through the day. A good selection of cereals and yoghurt was also present and of course coffee, tea and fruit juice.
All in all a wonderful place to stay within easy reach of Gloucester, Bristol, Bath and the Cotswolds. We will certainly be returning when next visiting that area.

We arrived at 10.30pm after a long drive from West Wales. We were greeted by a very warm welcome, a tasty pre-booked supper, delicious Black Rat Scrumpy and a very comfortable bedroom in the adjoining building. The value of the B&B was exceptionally good. Sunday lunch the following day was delicious.
This pub merits its very complimentary entry in the 2009 CAMRA Good Beer Guide.
A top-rate hostelry

What a gem! Quite the best place we have stayed in, of that type, in our lengthy travels. The sort of place that immediately makes you want to extend your stay. We had planned a trip to the Slimbridge Bird Sanctuary and the accommodatio was, therefore, secondary. How wonderful that such an already interesting venue should be served, so closely, by such a wonderful Inn and other activities provided by the adjacent canal. They have recently completed a purpose built in- character extension of twelve glorious rooms, of a standard that makes your eyes water and your breast swell, as you come to appreciate all that is embodied in the design and furnishings in your room. To begin with, everything, obviously, is brand new and spanking clean but in addition to this, the quality is so high as to be astonishing in such a rural outback, if they will forgive us for that. The rooms are of a good size and beautifully proportioned, and ample enough to be able to provide leisure chairs and table, from which one can adequately relax and watch the generous flat screen TV. But most outstanding of all is the design of the electrical installation that tracks you around your little enclosure, automatically switching lights on for you, in every corner, as you move. The bathroom is a masterpiece with bath and separate shower cubicle, all to the highest quality and design standards. None of the essential requirements are missing, as in so many other similar establishments. Additionally, the food in the inn is of a commensurate quality; all home cooking, good and wholesome, and reaonably priced as you might expect from a Freehouse. When we arrived at our next night's stop, which was unfortunate to say the least, we very nearly rang up the Tudor Arms to see if they could fit us in for some more wonderful nights. An absolute delight and the staff just added to the pleasurable experience..
