Description: Relaxed, easy dining is offered here at The Horseshoe Inns Bistro, a low key alternative to the sumptuous Bardoulets Restaurant, which has made The Horseshoe famous on the Scottish dining scene. Cosy and rustic, the Bistro is centered around a wood paneled main bar with small round tables edged by linen covered chairs, dark wood original beams overhead and a wood fired stove throwing out warmth just perfect for those cold Scottish winters. A regularly changing menu allows acclaimed chef Patrick Bardoulet to tackle favourite classics from throughout Europe but with his trademark creative twist, using excellent seasonal ingredients from the many excellent producers Scotland has to offer. A childrens menu is available throughout the day, with equally carefully created dishes introducing small gastronomes to the world of good food. Meanwhile, the bar stocks an array of excellent ales well suited to the casual dining approach offered by The Horseshoe Inn Bistro.

“excellent food with very comfortable rooms.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

We booked an overnight stay with Dinner last saturday. A very warm welcome on arrival and felt immediately "at home". The room was very comfotable ,warm and cosy in the old schoolhouse directly behind the Restaurant. We had never stayed before but have eaten on a number of occassions going back to when local "Team Vauxhall Driver" John Clelland used to deliver the first Beaujolais Nouveux from France!!! (many years ago!!). The food has always been very good in The Restaurant. It is now exceptional. We enjoyed every mouthful, bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The wine list is excellent and the prices very good. Highly recommended,

“food with flavour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

We have dined here on a couple of occasions 1 for dinner and 1 for Sunday lunch, on both occasions the food and service was excellent.
We dine out a lot and often disappointed at the lack of flavour in food but the food at the Horseshoe was bursting with flavour and the quality of ingredients used was excellent especially the Scallops. The wine prices are realistic and overall a fine dining experience, we will be back soon.

“Consistently Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

My partner and I enjoyed another superb meal at The Horseshoe Inn on a mid week night this month. The service was 1st Class, all the staff being very professional and friendly from amiable front of house Mark Slaney with his ever warm welcome, helpful Restaurant Manager Shashi Prakash who advised us on the superb selection of menu choices and the charming Marietta who served our meal. I should really mention them all! The food was, as usual, absolutely delicious and beautifully presented.
it's wonderful to know we have such a consistently excellent Restaurant practically on our doorstep. I'm sure we will have an opportunity to visit again very soon - without the need for a specific celebration. The food and atmosphere are so good every visit becomes a special treat. We can highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.

Alistair Craig is a fantastic chef. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, selected with care from local sources, and nicely portioned.
