My friend and I stayed here on our first night in Iceland after a long transatlantic flight and a long, fun day adventuring through southern Iceland. It had been raining all day,but we had still packed a lot of action into it, wanting to make the most of our time.
We got to the hotel around 7pm and were delighted to walk into our room (NB: the "gray" building on the west side of the premises, where we stayed, seems to be newer/more modern, perhaps request a room there?). A beautiful view to farmhouses to the north, and immaculate, simple and tastefully appointed.
We had a fun dinner in a packed, lively and warm dining hall...simple but tasty food and a really pleasant server staff.
The beds were SO COMFORTABLE that despite our jetlag we slept, unmoving, for 12 straight hours...and missed breakfast by an hour. The staff was so incredibly kind and pulled out all kinds of food options for us, set us a table by the window, poured us coffee, and were lovely about it.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyone I know traveling to Iceland! And- it is a 4 minute drive to the. Indblowingly beautiful Dyrhoaley beach and lighthouse.
