“So professionals and yet so friendly.”

I had a wonderful experience! Highly recommendable! We personalised the trip together with the staff, they were very flexible and so careful, really interested in making us discover the essence of this wonderful country, always accessible to answer our questions and go beyond our curiosity. We felt from the first moment among friends and we had an unforgettable day across the southern coast of Iceland. Not only expert guides but also (and specially) customer focused people!

“The most amazing day at Iceland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

We just came back from a 3 week trip all around Iceland. Even though we've never written a recommendation through the web, this time we felt we must share our feelings.

When you get to Vik, you really don't want to miss the "Under the Volcano" tour, operated by "Katla track".
For a couple who have visited many places around the globe , we are very determined to tell you that you should take this excursion:

Beside the opportunity to visit the most beautiful sites at Iceland (such as Myrdalsjokull glacier and Dyrhoaley)
by Super jeep, you will get to know Guðjón - the most amazing tour guide we have ever met.

He is a wealth of information about Iceland and he is proud and eager to share what he knows (including the Sociology, History, Economicsand Politics of the area) but most importantly he is awesome!
After listening to him you will know what is it to be an Icelender and for sure how is it to live just under that huge ticking bomb (or Katla volcano).

We plowed the river and then a 4 wheel drive to the glacier within which Katla is sleeping at the moment, until the beast will be unleashed,
We drank coffee in a volcano shelter house & we sang an Icelandic song inside a cave by a mountain where a well known Viking was buried. We saw many arctic birds, got info and saw how Iceland was involved in WW2, & got to an amazing watching spot that only such jeep can get to. And…
When we were about to end our tour, after everyone was tired and getting sleepy – only then did Guðjón show us what a super jeep can do.
No, we won't tell you. You just have to book that tour and find for yourself…
We sincerely advise you (and it’s the first time we advise on this platform), that you should contact him, you should book the trip, and you should thank us after that.

Have a great time with "Katla treck", the superjeep and Guðjón.
Don't forget to say hi from us (we're just joking)

“Nice day around the Katla volcano”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

Last weekend we made a very nice journey with Katlatrack around Vík. Guðjón, the guide, was very nice and interesting. Indeed he mixes his personnal history to tell the history of Vík. Thanks to his huge car, we could go in amazing places: to cross a piece of ocean, on the top of the mountain in Vík and on the feet of the Myrdalsjökull. The glacier tongue we visited is just amazing: all black and with a waterfall inside.

The advendure took 6 hours but it is worth it. If you plan to visit the museum in Vík, don't, because the entrance is included in the Katlatrack tour.
