My friend and I found this on our first night in Reykjavik and tried all the unusual meats on offer. We had puffin to start which is a strange combination of meat and an oily fishy taste but quite nice. We also had whale to start which was slightly thicker pieces and tasted great. For the main course, my friend had the orange rugby fish which he claimed was the nicest fish meal he had ever had. It is very similar to monkfish but the sauce was delicious. I had a horse tenderloin which was so juicy and tender it makes me never want to eat beef steak again!! With a couple of glasses of wine and a vodka and orange the bill came to 20,00 ISK- approx £120 for 2. Expensive compared to UK prices but not for Iceland and the quality of the food and the friendly service made it worth it. I would certainly recommend eating here and if you do, you should book as the place is small and cosy and gets packed with locals and tourists. We ate out at another Trip advisor reviewed restaurant called Laekjarbrekka and the food wasn;t a patch on 3 Frakkar so we went back here again for our 3rd and last night. This time we both had the horse steak as it was so lovely. The starters we chose weren't exceptional ( mackerel and reindeer pate) but again beautiful meal.
