Having lived for years in east London (near Brick Lane), I think I've eaten a lot of especially delicious Indian food. And wherever I've lived I've always tried my best to find the nicest local Indian. I'm sure that anyone from India, or even anyone who has visited, which I unfortunately haven't yet, would tell be able to enlighten me a lot about what is authentic, but to me the outstanding amongst the Indian restaurants in England are a real delight.
When visiting Iceland earlier in the year the last thing I was expecting was to find some of the best Indian food I've ever eaten, but this place is so good that you quite willingly bear the discomfort of an over-filled belly in order to sample more and more of their stunning dishes.
It's pricey, but no more pricey than the rest of the city.
I ended up going there three times in a week, and now I wouldn't want anyone who likes Indian food to go to Reykjavic without trying Austur India Fjelagid.
