if you want traditional Icelandic fayre AND want a posh candle lite dinner experience this is a good place to try!
I tried fermented shark - I dont think I'll ever voluntarily eat it again but well worth ago if your adventurous! Reminicent of really really smally blue cheese - that smell/flavour you get as you exhale through your nose - almost amonia like... If you love stinky cheese then you will prob like fermented shark - but be warned - it is really REALLY chewy and is best eaten with a shot of Brennivin (Icelandic liquor - slightly anescendy in flavour and strong enough to take away the taste of Shark!!)
I only had it as an aperitif so a very small portion but this was more than enough for a last of olde worlde Icelandic fayre - it was served in a sealed test tube to contain the smell!!
For my main I had Icelandic Birch smoked Minke Whale - it was DELICIOUS! similar to very rare lamb rump in colour and texture but flovour wise... well, you'l just have to try it for yourself! Served with Artic Chard and wild mushroom dauphinoise... mmmm :)
A little pricey - especially the wine - but if your after a romantic, tradtional meal this is a very good place to start, they also offer sampling plates and set menus so you really can try everything!
irrelevant of scores - i would def go back again and recommend it... ENJOY!!
