“Comfortable and Spacious stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

We stayed here for three nights with our two daughters. The room was clean and spacious, it was great for our daughters to have some privacy in the bunk beds, even if just separated by a curtain. The location was perfect, we could walk anywhere within minutes, and it was nice to be able to eat breakfast in the room, Our hosts were kind and helpful. It sounds like breakfast was served onsite on the website, but it is not, however we were pointed to a nearby bed and breakfast a few houses away. There was a TV, but only had three channels and not in English so not helpful, but we did have another option for a movie during a particularly cold and rainy day.

We really liked this place, which is really close to the Reykjavik city center. Comfortable beds where we got so much of rest which we needed after our trips.
Provided breakfast was quite fine as well, but I just hated toast bread after 6 days :).
Drapery in kitchen window would be a big advantage - there's no real darkness in Summer.

Room Tip: we had a 1st floor room on the left, which was a bit larger with larger bathroom than the center one...

We were looking forward to all the well described and praised features of the Three Sisters Guesthouse, which we had booked at a time when supposedly a lot of apartments were still available, but were thoroughly disappointed because we ended up in a second building closer by the harbour at a busy junction. The apartment was small, but adequately equipped with the necessary things. Apart from the traffic noise that didn't stop until 1 am and started again before 7am, we disliked the fact that the windows (ground floor) were facing street and pavement so that pedestrians were within arm's reach. With the curtains drawn the place was very dark, all in all not the cosy and comfortable base for our excursions we had imagined.
We think that this studio, which is not mentioned on the website at all as an alternative to the ones in the main building, should not be given to people who wanted the nice apartments without extra notice and an alternative offer. We felt ill-informed by the website.
We found it fair, though, that we could check out after only one of the four nights we had booked without any further hassle.

Room Tip: Ask for a studio in the main building, avoid the other building by the harbor.

we stayed in three sister for 2 nights before back to our place

three sister ran by a family, and the host is a smart and nice man, we booked a studio apartment (in good price), just near by the main house. he showed on time and helped us to book the flybus kindly and took us to the meeting point nearby, and changed the light bulb immediately after we noted the light in shower room was not working; also he let us to choose one of the apartments

we picked one on 2nd floor, the location is just beside the old harbour and 3 mins walk from center, therefore we could go to anywhere in a convenience way e.g. the big supermarket, wandering around in center, hapa, volcano show center, flea market, lake or having sea food etc
the studio is well equipped, stoves, microwave, toast machine, kitchen utensils, refresh shower, etc
clean and comfortable bed, TV (quite rare in Iceland) and big windows

that's a good choice for tourists who want to have a long or short stay

Room Tip: 2nd floor is better and quiet then the ground foor

For this holiday we decided to forgo the better hotels and booked a self catering studio apartment.
We liked the idea of a kitchenette and self catering facilities.
The guesthouse very well situated, a one minute walk to the harbour and five minutes to the centre of town.
Thor, the owner, lives on the premises and is always available to give help and advice.i
The apartment was clean and the kitchenette and bathroom looked as if they'd been recently renovated.
The bedroom/sitting room had comfortable beds and armchairs, a T.V. (which we didn't watch) and an assortment of other furniture. We felt it was a bit crowded and not as luxurious as we like, but for a short stay it didn't bother us.
The towels were changed once during our 4 night stay, but the room wasn't cleaned. As two tidy people this didn't really bother us.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Three Sisters Guesthouse.

It's a simply average guesthouse in a fantastic location in Central Reykjavik. The owner is extremely cordial but I rated it three stars due to the value as it was priced high to have holes in the sheets and no cleaning service over the course of an extended stay. If you're not planning to spend much time in the room, the Three Sisters will serve you just find in the fantastic city of Reykjavik.

the location is walking distance from the center where all restaurants, cafes and tourist information is located. The owner Thor is a very friendly guy. We came in at 2am in the night, and he happily waited for us to give us the keys , and even helped us out with the parking late night. We had a very comfortable stay in his studio.
