“A Real Hot Spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

Went there with friends. The food was exiting, sort of Californian-Korean fusion. The Bar scene is really exiting with fabulous cocktails and good selection of beer from tab. But If you're looking for a 'stiff quiet fine dining', this is not the right place.

“Amazing fusion fare in an atmospheric setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

I went to K-bar to try this new addition to Reykjavik´s restaurant fauna.
In the beginning I was struck be the beautiful interior design with many imaginative solutions of the restaurant´s space. Al lot to talk about and observe. I especially loved the warm glowing lighting that makes all the guests in the crowded K-bar look like movie stars.
I highly recommend getting a cocktail in a teapot for the table to kick start your evening.
Do not miss the flying fish eggs and the lamb chops are a must, prime pieces of Icelands free mountain roaming lamb. Also, the St. Jaques shellfish is a must have.
Enjoy!

“Mixed feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

We went here first for lunch and it was great! We had the KFC and tempura fries and it was very tasty, the place had a nice atmosphere and staff were very good, however we went the following evening and our starters were very good but we ordered steaks for our main course and they were dreadful they were undercooked and were beige not cooked well at all no colour or flavour to them,I think they were just too busy and the kitchen was struggling to cope we weren't the only people who felt this.I must add though that our complaints were dealt with very well and the waiters were excellent. The place has a good atmosphere.

“Koren Fusion”

Delicious, great staff and great decor. A real hot spot and always rather busy. Loved that the menu was fresh every day, nothing was routine there.

“Huge disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

A few weeks ago, I and my friends decided to try this place out. We had our reservations for a table of 8 . We were given a table that is near the door that every time the door opens,a brush of cold air comes in. The fun doesn't stop there. We ask the waiter how long does it take for the bibimbap, and he said it won't take an hour. Everybody placed their orders. We had drinks, and after 30 mins, one of us got his order. Then another few more minutes, another came, while the rest of us has to wait for more than an hr! The worse part is that you see other tables being serve ahead of us whereas we first came before them ( same dish we ordered ) ! My husband called the attention of the waiter and they apologize telling us they are having problems in the kitchen. Unfortunately, for any person who has to wait for almost 2 hrs is horrible! We could have walked away. But that day, we are having a couples night and we don't want to spoil the evening. It's a good thing my friend who is pregnant was able to wait that long.
The food is ok. No complain about it. But for those who wants to try soju, make sure you know you are just getting a shot and not a bottle for a price of 1000 isk! It's just absurb.
We were given a compensation for the delay. A waiter came out with a bottle of soju and said we are all given a shot of soju...hooray.
Lastly, bring a small flash light with you to be able to read what's in the menu.
