I stayed there for five nights with a friend and we had no problems with the hotel. The room is just a standard European size room with furnishings similar to an Ikea setup. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean and the shower was nice and hot (just push the button to get it warmer than the 38 degrees printed). We stayed on the 7th floor and the hotel was quiet despite seeing people all the time. The service from the front desk was great and the European breakfasts were just what we wanted before heading out every day.

The only problem we found was that the hotel is not that close to the city so be prepared to walk at least 30 minutes. There is nothing wrong with walking but if you need to get there faster, the cab ride will cost you $15. Also, the sidewalks are completely covered in ice to add a couple minutes for that too. Around this hotel, though, there are a lot of restaurants and a large swim center nearby that is also where the community gathers to sit in the warm waters and discuss the day's news.

All in all, I like the hotel but I wish I was closer to the downtown area.

Room tip: Ask for the side of the hotel with the great view of Iceland. If not, you'll get the side with just a parking lot (not as cool).

We stayed in this hotel for 4 days 3 nights. Room is small but comfy. Bed is okay. All room has electronic water pot that you can make hot water for coffee or instant noodles. Breakfast was good. Located near center Reykjavik, 40 mins drive to the airport. 5 min drive to the big Kringlan mall. Restaurant next door, Krúska ehf, is really good; foods are all healthy yet tasty

Room tip: Rooms on the north side are facing the street with better view. higher floor the better.

Just going to leave this hotel and have had a 4 night stay . great hotel for a short break rooms very clean and fresh , beds comfortable, shower excellent . you have a hair dryer and kettle in room and cleaners are in every day. Breakfast is from 7_10 in morning and I found plenty of choice is 3 types of cereal, porridge, fresh fruit, pastry's ,fresh bread, eggs(hard and soft boiled) ,cold meats, cheese, jams ,yoghurt, plus various teas ,coffee, fruit juices. Has a small bar and a happy hour 5_7 every evening .hotel is about a 20 minute walk to Reykjavik but if you don't fancy that bus stop across the road 350 kroner (£1.50)ish .there are a few restaurant next to the hotel we ate at Mexican was good the pizza place also good but gets busy and kruskas very good an a bit different .the staff are great and nothing seems to much trouble for them ,would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Iceland

Room tip: If you can get a room on 7th floor at front .

We stayed here with a package through Gate 1 Travel and were very happy with the hotel. It is inexpensive (in comparison), very clean and the staff is helpful. We loved that it was walking distance to the largest thermal pool in Reykjavik! (Thermal pools are VERY popular in Iceland and really are a must-visit to get a feel for their culture). Alcohol in Reykjavik is not cheap, but this hotel has a pretty good happy hour price for wine and beer. There is free wi-fi in the rooms. The rooms are small, but that is fine with me since we spent so little time in there. Many people walked downtown from the hotel, but we took taxis since it was pretty cold! If it was summertime I think the walk would be fine and would take about 20 minutes.

Stayed 4 nights with my wife and the beds are comfortable and the room is clean and warm. Breakfast is fine considering it is a budget hotel with no hot food except porridge. The receptionist staff are extremely helpful and proficient in English. The only complaint is that if the lift is full of passengers exceeding the overall weight, there is no audio warning in the lift. 15 minutes to an outside geo thermal bath and costs around £4. Just a 20 feet walk in the cold to the outdoor heated pool.

Room tip: Ask for the top floor facing the mountain.
