We stayed at the Kvosin downtown hotel for 6 nights in early November and couldn't have had a better stay. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The location also couldn't have been much better, walking distance to all of the shops, bars, and restaurants that downtown Reykjavik has to offer. It's a huge plus to have the wine bar on the ground floor and Bergson Mathus (for breakfast) just around the corner. We stayed on the third floor, towards the back of the hotel so noise was never an issue and there is a really nice large terrace on that floor that I imagine is great to sit out on when the weather is a little warmer. We were offered a cell phone to use for the week at reception when we checked in and were glad we took it, as we ended up using it to change some of our other plans and reservations. Bottom line, we loved this hotel and would stay here again and again. Breakfast was delicious, and we were able to swap out the normal breakfast plate for a croissant on occasion for variety.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Kvosin is located in the heart of Reykjavík. And by heart, I mean heart, not kidney, spleen or thyroid. In less then three minutes walking distance are cafés, bars, clubs, museums, Harpa (concerts and conventions), the mayor, ducks and politicians working in the Icelandic parliament next door (nevermind).Let's see. I've got Normal rooms, Bigger rooms, Biggest rooms and Larger than life rooms but only one Tiny room. I'm inspired by my experience as a traveller: I want a good bed, I want to cook, I want to watch big TV, I want to bring my friends or kids, I want space and I want fun. So, here you are. ... more less
