“A nice place in the city centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

This hotel has indeed small, but very clean and nicely decorated rooms. In room no. 10 the bathroom is amazingly big and floor heating is available.
The staff members are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is very good in a cozy room where 8 people can eat at the same time, but it somehow works out and the offer for such a small hotel is indeed very good.
The hotel is close to the old harbour and the city centre and a lot of places are in walking distance. There is even a small shop nearby where you could buy some basics.
A lovely place and only due to the room size 4 instead of 5 stars.

This staff here were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our brief stay here. The rooms were very comfortable with all your needs met. The breakfast offered various selections and was quaint but comfortable.

We were warmly greeted when we arrived at the hotel and check in was quick and easy. The rooms are small but very clean, quaint and adequate and the bed was amazing! The young ladies at the front desk eagerly answered all our questions about directions and even recommended a couple of restaurants. The hotel is located on a very quiet street and is only a short walk to the city area. Breakfast was good and there are plenty of choices. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Clean small room with basic breakfast. Our TV did not work the three days we were there. The faucet on the very small sink was loose and sprayed water all over. We asked three times to have both TV and faucet fixed but were told that because it was a weekend, they could not get anyone out to fix them. The shower and toilet share same small space. Small breakfast room was very cozy. Location is very convenient to strolling the streets of Reyjavik. Parking is on the street and not always convenient to hotel - and you must pay for parking except on Sundays.

Room Tip: Don't accept number 9!

The rooms are small but functional and spotless. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast started early and was perfectly good. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay in an affordable hotel in the centre of the city. The hotel also has good free WiFi.

Hotel Hilda is absolutely charming. While the rooms are small, they are very clean and the beds oh-so-very comfortable. We were on the top floor and it was very quiet. The small window let a nice breeze in, which was lovely. We arrived very early (8AM) but were unable to check in early as they were fully booked. The friendly staff invited us to have breakfast there and we could leave our luggage and wander the city until our room was ready. The breakfast room is small but cozy and the outdoor gazebo is super cute and fun (if the weather isn`t too cold!) We were running the Reykjavik Marathon on August 24 and were absolutely delighted to see the hotel was minutes from the start line! It was also cool being so close to the harbour and to the action. Everyone who works there was super friendly and helped us with making reservations and anything else we needed. I highly recommend this hotel!

The location of this clean hotel is excellent and quiet. Very friendly staff. Our room - number 5 in front of the reception - was very small. The breakfast room is also very small - only 8 seats and the hotel has 13 rooms - so it could be full. Nice place for 1 or 2 nights.
