We stayed in Hotel Bjork two nights at the end of our amazing trip (twelve days long) in Iceland.
It was indeed the bitter "dessert" of the sweet vacation!
Location: Hotel Bjork is located in the heart of the small industrial zone, right opposite Mercedes' garage and some storage houses. It situated about half an hour of the energizing walking from the downtown, the center of the city of Reykjavik.
Rooms: instead of the triple, which we booked, we got double room with extra bed which could be suitable for teenager (quite problematic for staying of three adults).
The main lamp was burned, the shower's holder was broken and the TV didn't work at all. Besides, the DRAINAGE of the shower was impassable.
During the night hours, buses stopped from time to time just under windows producing terrible engines' noise and strong smell of the gasoline's gases.
The water pressure in the shower was low; the hot water was in short supply, frequently stopped at sprinkling cold "fresh" shower from time to time - to recall that we are in Iceland.
Lobby: it was strong constant smell of the lobsters' soup.
Breakfast: "SCIMPINESS" would be the most proper word to characterize the breakfast in general. Everything was in short supply: orange juice, yogurt, pans - even spoons and the simplest bread. Everything was subject of a good will of two employees, which were simply unable to serve so many people which come to the breakfast.
We really wondered – how it is possible that Hotel Bjork Reykjavik is 3 stars? How it is ranked on the top of TripAdvisor's Reykjavik hotels list?
